An optimistic view of Taylor's future in Super Six

Exactly. I don't know how many times Taylor has to get exposed before people realize he was never that good in the first place - an HBO created hype job, built up with gift decisions against TRULY great fighters like Hopkins and Wright.

Any decent fighter will beat this guy. He just isn't that good.

 

He had the benefit of catching Hop at the right time when B-Hop was old, and struggling to make 160. Against the 2001 Hopkins, Taylor woulda never seen the final bell.

I fully agree w/you that he was an HBO hype job. It shoulda been a hint to ppl that he sucked after he BARELY got past Cory Spinks. Spinks boxed the **** outta him for a number of rounds in that fight.

 

Nice to see somebody recognizes this. All Taylor ever had to do to "win" was make it close. HBO's influence, stated or otherwise, did the rest.

He gets a free pass for all these close fights, but the fact remains he NEVER beat ANY top fighter in their prime clearly and convincingly. He feasted on smaller fighters, has-beens, and then against even a declining Hopkins and Wright couldn't win clearly.

I saw it already. You have to understand that 90% of the general forum knows jack **** about boxing. The only knowledgable ones hide in the classic forum, cuz they know the stupdity that goes on here.

Just in the last week Ive heard that Hamed woulda beaten Mayweather, and Haye coulda beaten a prime Tyson. Probably the same people that said Taylor was the most "skilled" one in the tournament.

 

Pavlik KO7 Taylor, Froch KO12 Taylor, Abraham KO12 Taylor. Knocked out 3 times in 5 fights and two years time. His only win was a shot to **** Lacy.

You're not being realistic. I certainly hope the people who know and love Jermain aren't telling him this ****. JT needs to go home, take care of his beautiful wife and children, and live to tell his grand kids he was once the undisputed middleweight champion of the world. My message to Jermain is; Nice ride cowboy, but it's time to quit the rodeo.
