An unbelievable lead left/right hook OR An unbelievable straight right/left hand

    As a fan, in terms of just flat out watching the sport of boxing....If you had to choose between watching a fighter with a brutally precise/strong straight right hand OR a brutally precise/strong lead left hook....What would you rather see??
    (Of course opposite if you're thinking about a dirty southpaw :lol:)

    When you have fighters like Cotto and DLH with great left hands. You say them, then you see Mayweather, Tommy Hearns with those right hands. It's all on who like to watch.

    Exactly, All fighters figure out to play to their physical advantages. I don't want to talk about specific boxers at all. But from an Objective point of view, what floats your boat? The left hook? The right hand? It's honestly hard to choose for me, It is amazing seeing fighters perfect these two lethal weapons to their own styles.

    The hook probably.. although the straight against southpaws is nice.

    **** I wanted to make the poll a public vote...Is there a way I can change that? I would like to know what people like, IMO the lead hook and the straight punch are the 2 most important punches in boxing aside from the jab. If you favor one or the other it usually lets us know what type of fighter/style you prefer to watch. The biggest distinction to me offensively is the preference of a boxer to use the lead hook or the straight punch.

    straight. especially when you see a master like hearns throw it, it's artistic violence.

    I love it when a fighter can pick a fighter off with a straight right hand(James Toney/Mayweather style). But something drives me up the wall when a fighter gets into close range and manages to completely offset everything a fighter is going to do with a compact powerful left hook that gets off before the opponent can get their punches off. It is so hard to time a left hook in a fight, its absurd.

    For me its probably the left hook, because when landed perfectly*** it has the best effects.. The head grotesquely whips to one side than the other, jaw gets all distorted, and boom, crumble, plus it seems to make people "out on their feet" more than the right hand, the push from the right hand makes for more KD/KOs.. More often than not, someone goes down from a left hook, its hard to choose whether to stay down or stay up, if you get what im saying haha..

    All that said, i still dont really favor one over the other by a lot, I love to see someone working a jab, or another with big straights, hell, I love 1-2s..

    a short left hook definitely does it for me. in tight and all of a sudden BANG good night. and it aves you wondering where did it come from.
