First off, this is one of my most anticipated match ups of the original super 6. I am looking forward to seeing who will be the victor that night. I enjoy watching both guys fight, both have very crowd pleasing styles as well as both seemingly are very likable people. Size wise, I hear many saying they think Froch will be too big for AA... and I can see their points.. Dirrell was able to use his size that night against AA, and it obviously gave him fits.. but I think Dirrell's speed and southpaw style ultimately were the most important factors in beating AA's style. Froch is bigger, stronger and has a better reach than Dirrell, yet he is no where near the speed of dirrell... This is why using the Dirrell fight is probably not the best way to look at it. Even toward the end of the fight, AA began landing bombs with that right hand, though never was able to land many lefts, and AA's Left hook is pivotal in his attack. I think AA will be able to land both rights and lefts on Froch. Froch has been hurt against Dirrell and has been hurt against Kessler, both guys don't have anywhere near the punching power of AA IMO, if AA is able to land flush on Froch, will he be able to take it? I believe AA will land flush, Froch fights with his hands so low that if he has any lapses in defense, and AA bursts out with one of his assaults... I find it hard to believe the entire fight will happen without AA landing some very hard shots. I am calling it mid to late round TKO victory for AA. I could see Froch being able to hold off AA with a good jab and powerful right and winning the fight by UD... possibly tko? I don't think AA is going to get hurt, the guy is a beast. But this is still boxing..
You said it all. Your only error was pleasing the other side with your last paragraph. Froch doesn't have the jab nor skills/ability to out-box Abraham to a UD. This fight will end with a KO and Froch will be the one counted out.
At first I thought AA KO... But i think Froch may be a little big for him, and he is pretty awkward and strong himself..... not sure who is gonna win but it should be a good fight.
Just watched the whole Froch AA press conference and was plesently entertained. After seeing the size of Froch relative to AA I have to say the people that believe Froch is too big for AA might have a very good point. Froch certainly seemed both wider and taller. As far as my break down of the fight goes you can make a very good case for Froch being the best boxer that AA has ever faced. Additionally, Froch is probably the biggest fighter AA has ever faced, he is probably the strongest fighter AA has ever faced, he is probably the hardest hitting fighter AA has ever faced, he probably has more stamina then anyone AA has ever faced and mentally he is probably the most couragous fighter AA has ever faced and the smartest fighter AA has ever faced.... AA is probably the cleverest fighter, the best defensive fighter and the hardest hitting fighter Froch has ever faced.... If your following my logic you can see where I am going with this....I see AA as being the fighter with the most to over come in this fight. Classically speaking Froch is the better boxer and if this was an amatuer bought he would be the more likely to box at range, pile up points and win the rounds. So based on styles he should be able to lead this fight on points for the majourity of the figth. The big task for Froch is for him to avoid getting worn down and deconstructed the way many AA opponents have been before. If you go back to my original assessment of strengths and weaknesses you see that the only big thing that Carl needs to work on is avoiding getting hit with the big bomb. In this means spending his training camp practicing 1) not stepping back into a left hook 2) not ducking the left hook only to run into a straight right hand and 3) give AA very few opportunities to counter punch him when AA squares up against the ropes. Yes with Froch's hands down style asking him to become a defensive genius in one training camp is a lot to ask. But it is the only thing he has to do to own all the intagibles. And if you give a world class fighter a whole training camp to work on something he can usually be very prepared come fight night. No, I do not expect him to be Pernell Whitaker come fight night. But matching skill sets is not a game of absolutes its "shades of grey" and I expect the Carl Froch that shows up to fight AA to be closer to the "I can avoid most of your stuff" shade then the "I haven't got a bloody clue where the punches are coming from" shade. If you catch my drift.
Froch does have a world champoinship bronze medal....Its not the gold but I hear they don't just give though things away. Plus, green or not he did out box the guy that just out boxed Chad Dawson. Froch can out box AA. Doesn't mean he will once he tastes his power but if your just talk jabs and foot work I'd say he's got the edge.
ive posted this on other threads so im making this condensed 1-4 AA gives away to Froch Froch behind his jab and right hand as long as he fights smart he wins 2-3 of the next 5 10 and up will decide the fight if Froch hangs on he wins on points or he is caught and stopped like Taylor or gevor
Froch is capable of simply outboxing abraham only doubt I have is what happens if AA connects with a counter bomb, otherwise I cant see AA winning he has only a punchers chance imo. The idea that Dirrell got much much better and learned so so much from the froch fight just isn't true. Froch will be doing the same for ages not as slick but controlling the fight from range with his jab with AA covering up and going in to his shell as normal. This fight will be won and lost rounds 10-12 with froch up on cards. I can also see froch putting a beating on AA he is a lot bigger has to be said cant help but notice it's by quite a lot.
The simple historical fact is that trying to out box AA for 12 rounds has never worked, not even once. Even with Dirrell he was coming on pretty strong when he screwed up and got DQed. The longer you allow Arthur to hang around, the more chances he gets to land something big. We all know AA is a slow starter who spends the first 4 rounds standing around like he is waiting for a damn bus! After that he picks up the pace a bit, but he still fights in spots and spurts, and he wants to be the one to decide when he will fight, and when he will hide behind his guard. Take that **** away from him. Jump on him right at the opening bell. Hurt him, and keep him hurt. You have to remember that if Miranda was a good finisher, and not a ******, he would have stopped Abraham in 5 rounds or less. Froch is way more dangerous than even a peak Miranda. If Carl will keep his freaking left hand up where it belongs, and come out looking to deliver serious pain, he has a very good chance to win, and win big. If he fights like he normally does with his left down around his knee cap, and lets AA hang around into the late rounds, Froch will probably get knocked out.
big difference between froch and dirrell, dirrel is lightning fast. and has fast punches, froch is slow as **** and throughs telegraphed punches. and he has not the footwork dirrell has, so i'm going for aa. aa will land flush for the first time in the third or fourth round and will knock out froch in the 6th round. froch can't outbox aa because he is simple to slow. taylor who outboxed and outslugged froch till getting tired was schooled by aa. so i'm going by aa ko between the 6th and 9th round. but this will be a nice fight, and i think that froch would beat ward in an ugly fight!!! but aa will lose to ward a wide ud.
Yes but abraham isn't exactly a slickster himself quite easy to hit even though he covers up some do get through. He'll never change he always turtles up it's what he does. Going to come down to whether he can land some good shots on froch and see what happens remember abraham hardly ever out boxes anyone rounds 1-5.
aa has slow ass foot work but he has decent hand speed, a lot of guys forget that:deal but froch has good but very slow footwork and has no handspeed, he has good power and reach and great stamina. i can't see froch outboxing aa. you need to have great stamina and great speed to beat aa. froch has only one thing and his chin is good but not iron
