I want to start saying what i said before the fight...people were underestimating Salido,he is tough, experienced with a granite chin.He was there for a fight an never gave up.
My concern about Gamboa was going into the late rounds and become tired( a la Lopez vs Mtgwa)but i was wrong,Gamboa finished stronger and faster than the middle rds.
It looks like his punches didnt carry the same power from previous fights,at some point looked kind of sloopy to me, but the last couple rds he was going back to speed and power.
Again got hit and went off balance, this time a legitime KO,credit to Salido(who kneel around the middle rds and Cortez didnt noticed)
Gamboa's foul the last Rd could have cost him the fight by DQ,completly unaceptable, but the heat of the fight were leading both men to hit after the bell and behind the head.
Lets see how Lopez do against another tough mexican.I this is time to put them together early next yr.

Either Gamboa isn't as strong a puncher as I thought or Salido is a tougher fighter than I gave him credit for. I do agree that knock down was legit on Gamboa, and if Salido was a punk looking for a way out, he would of faked not being able to continue and Gamboa would of been DQ'd. Good thing Gamboa was fighting a Mexican with heart that wouldn't just lay down like that.

If Salido had better technique like Marquez, Gamboa would of been in more trouble than just that one round. But it's another victory for El Ciclon!

I heard Mikey Garcia is the mandatory for the IBF, man that would be great seeing him against Gamboa

I think the reason why his punches didn't have the same effect is he was fighting a guy who fights at the higher weights so his punches won't have as much of an effect when he steps up in competition. Now I really can't wait for lopez vs gamboa...I still feel that lopez will win that fight as he is a stronger puncher....while gamboa leaves his hands down way too much.

Before tonight's fight I favored Gamboa, after tonight I favor Lopez to win.

I don't know so much of it was timing so much as it was salido's experience at cutting off the ring from a slick boxer/puncher. Gamboa should have been making him pay more while he came inside....he did a little bit but not as much as I would have liked. Still great fight all around....a bit too much holding for my comfort but not as bad as some fights.

    Same here!!!

I was a bit nervous about this match up.....not now!!!

Gamboa is a sucker for the Left cross....

Paint drying in the winter puncher Salido peppered Gamboa with left hooks, jabs...straights all night and body shots as well as inside shots.

Lopez will hurt Gamboa....he is just not ready for him plain and simple!!!

disd anyone noted that Salido was way bigger than Gamboa, a least by 10lbs.

No short memory here, why did you think I favored Gamboa to beat Lopez before?

They both entered the ring at 140 pounds, nice try on your part though.

And d fact of d matter is, Gamboa won easily, and put him down 3 times, Cortez only counted one, he will whoop Juanma from post to post.

And what make you change your mind? He fought a bigger man that gets stronger as the fight goes deeper, still he was d fresher of d two and almost knock him out in d last two rounds, salido push him and he passed d test with flying colors.
