Horus came from a well off family in Alexandria, Egypt. He attended school for rhetoric while he competed in boxing. Horus won the boxing tournament in the Olympics at Antioch in 364. That same year he became Praefectus Aegypti, the governor of Egypt in the Roman Empire. He would then turn from rhetoric and become a practicing cynic philosopher
