Ancient Champions: Photion of Ephesos

as a hobbyist I love the fact that ancient hellenistic society is well respected academia today because for us boxing fans we get more educated researchers handling the history.

I knew to the right folks the sources were going to be more exciting than the article itself. It would have been easy to just source the Journal for the article and edit out the notations. I do think it'd be a better looking thread that way, but, that's a whole treasure trove of notes and sources and I couldn't just keep them to myself so this was the compromise.

I hadn't been here in sometime and forgotten some of the functions of this forum. I will actually edit the block and make it nicer to read but I'm going to put it in a quote that way folks who aren't interested in doing their own research don't have to scroll and scroll to get past it.


Lol. Yeah the bareknuckle guys are a bit of a pain in the ass, but in their defense they're not exactly harvard graduated historians...well hell I lol don't know that that's true actually but professionally they were mostly just journalist right?
