Well I go by the other lineage and call Calzaghe champ.Got Buffer with me and it's enough .Erdei hasn't defende against no contenders=stripping.

A lot of people don't consider him the lineal champ (they consider Calzaghe the lineal champ) and I have no idea why. Under any definition of lineal champ whatsoever, he's the champ, since the lineage started with Virgil Hill or, at worst, Dariuisz Michalczewski, before Roy Jones was even at 175.

But to strip someone kind of defeats the purpose of a Linear title in the first place...that being a historical look at 'the man who beat the man'.

Yes, after Spinks vacated in the 80's, the lineage started with the Hill-Maske unification in 1996. Maske was the Ring #1 and Hill the consensus/Ring #2.

 

Yeah but you have hard times. .The guy hasn't been defending the title against ranked contenders.Johnson,Jones,Tarver,Hopkins etc,he hasn't fought none of them.I just can't say that guy is the champ.
