See like I've been saying all along Adamek is a very good win. Diaconu fans like to dismiss him and say he wasn't good but he showed how good he is. Dawson fought him at Light Heavy and now the man is fighting at Cruiserweight and stopped Oneil Bell who was the Champion at one time. Much props to Adamek he fought a very good fight. And you Diaconu fans need to give Dawson his props for beating such a good fighter.

Not to take anything away from Dawson, as he is a very skilled fighter, and was definently a better fighter that night against Adamek.

But, I think it is pretty safe to say Adamek was truly not himself, and not in good health for the Dawson fight. Evidence of this are his performances in all of his fights prior/and now after the Dawson fight.

All I am saying is that I don't think Dawson's fight with Adamek should be used as a stirdy foundation or a gauge to base future fight outcomes off of.

Either way, I would love to see this fight. :thumbsup

Adamek was killing himself to make 175.

Adamek was a good win for Dawson. Not because Adamek beat Bell though, Bell isn't to good.

Adamek was coughweightdrainedcough vs. Dawson. :hey

Seriously though, I think Adamek might still lose to Dawson but would give a much better performance at a higher weight.

Adamek looked real comfortable at cruiser...he took some good shots from heavy handed Bell and landed some bombs of himself....Dawson just might have his number.

I must be the only person on this board who thinks O'neill Bell is a bum. Oh, well. Go figure. Still a good win for Adamek as he was consistently beating Bell to the punch. Looked similar to Dawson/Adamek although a little less dominant.

Overall, I agree with the intent of your post.

But 2 things I'd like to point out:

    1) As others have said, due to King keeping him inactive, Adamek was killing himself to make 175. In fact he wanted to campaign for a rematch at Lightheavyweight, but a few weeks into training camp post-Dawson, his coach told him to forget 175, because he would be a dead man walking.

    2) The fight was hardly a schooling. Adamek had Dawson on the brink of getting stopped. The scores were too wide, partly due to a 3 point swing by Adamek's slip being ruled a knockdown.

I think a rematch at Cruiser (Chad has said he is moving up eventually) or at a catchweight will be a very different fight...though Dawson should still be the favourite.

Perhaps Dawson fought the fight of his life. Not saying he did, just playing Devil's advocate.

I sure saw a schooling. Dawson had that quick knockdown in round 10, if i remember correctly, and I thought before that he had only lost 1 round. (again, if i remember correctly).

    Reasonable post. :good

Dawson owes Adamek a chance at redemption, let's not forget it was a voluntary defence by Adamek.

Yeah, Dawson didnt school Adamek, but he won mainly by being able to neutralize what Adamek was trying to do. Adamek hardly took any damage in that fight, but took enough shot and didnt land enough of his own to win. By no means a schooling, but a good clean victory. If Dawson comes back and looks good against other good fighters, it will prove that he truly is a good fighter and no fluke. time wil tell
