This may be the case, but only at light-heavy. We know that Adamek looked offensively deflated and did not fight thesame way. The critical question is whether Dawson made him look that way by being too slick and quick for him or whether the weight problems and trainer problems (had McGirt in corner, but Adamek speaks no english) were the main cause. I think its both those factors that combined to make him look bad.

Although winning on cards against Dawson is unlikely, I think there is a good chance Adamek knocks out Dawson at cruiser, both because of Chad's certified fragile chin and his questionable decission making, late in the rounds.

 

Nah, bruh, he got schooled. I can recall Buddy McGirt in his corner talking about Adamek has to show him something or he's gonna stop the fight and Adamek luckily puts silly Chad on his ass so Buddy doesn't step in. Dude, Adamek got his ass tore up that night. Straight up and down walk in the park status.

Dawson had a KD credited to him in round 7. Replays showed Chad stepping on Tomasz's foot.

Adamek was winning that 7th before the KD, so it was a 3 point swing. You can also make a case for him sweeping rounds 10, 11, and 12, though only one judge gave him all 3.

So that, along with Adamek almost stopping Dawson, made it a competetive fight, which was my point.

On the other hand, I do agree that the first 6 rounds (especially rounds 4,5,6, and 8) Dawson was schooling Adamek in every sense of the word. Dawson also won the fight any way you look at it, despite any refereeing errors.

But Adamek sure made it competetive, imo.

 

Adamek looked fine, because he has a granite chin, but he was reportedly in the hospital pissing blood after the fight. :-(

What made it worse was that he already had kidney problems going into the fight, due to weight drain.

 

yeah, i think we're just judging it differently. I was saying so b/c dawson was winning all the early rounds, and I think since Dawson expected the fight to be much harder he got relaxed and caught for the knowdown.

 

Easy, easy, easy. Let's not jump the gun here. Adamek is no Tyson and Dawson is no Douglas. It doesn't seem far-fetched in the slightest that Bad Chad would beat Adamek, to some it might have even seemed academic, but it was just the manner in which it was done that induced my comment.

Did anybody else read that Adamek was mixed up in organized crime? I read that about a month after his loss to Dawson. I figured he may have thrown the Dawson fight because Adamek didn't even seem to try to win.

Thoughts?
