He can run his own show like Prizefighting in UK or Boxcino, the Contender in US with journeyman/gatekeeper/fringe contender level fighters which would be fun to see. But he won't be a big dog as a promoter, fighters would eat him up.

There are really not that many boxers on the planet who are worth much more than 750k per fight in terms of their star power and ability to generate money. And even among the few who ARE worth more some of them are absolutely taking promoters to the cleaners. $150m for Canelo just now, $300+m in purses for the two Fury/Usyk fights, Joshua and Fury both getting around $50m each to box an MMA fighter etc. Yes, UFC pay could be better but boxing goes way too far to the other extreme, its a case of the lunatics running the asylum. Pick your poison I guess.

Why is this so darn difficult? It's basically like any business.

Promoters in boxing 'invest' in a company (the event) so they front the money (securing dates for venues etc. And for star boxers, their purse)

Boxers are the workers (owners of startup companies)

Its basically "here ill give you money you do most of the work. If sales are good, down the line you can make more"

NBA is 50/50 because there is WAY more work that is being done on the backend. Endless scouting for talent, most which require traveling around the world, managing contracts for many players, dealing with sports agents, running online and offline shops for merchandise, etc etc etc. So 50% is fair.

In boxing, the fighter is quite literally doing most of the work. Just give champion level fighters a set amount of money per belt they have, say 2 mill guaranteed. 5m if they are holding 2, 10m if they are holding 3, 20m if they are undisputed. Then go 7:3, the 7 in favor of the fighters. The fighter's camps can negotiate the splits of the 7.

After the gates/ppvs/network deals whatever is calculated, pay out the rest in accordance to the splits.

As for the undercard fighters, fine, use a pay structure similar to something dana has in mind. (If youre ranked top 10 in any sanctioning body, x amount, if you have more than 20 fights, x amount. Etc etc etc)

Everyone is just greedy AF which leads to the downfall of QUITE LITERALLY ANY AND EVERYTHING GOOD ON THE PLANET.

I just don't think it will work. MMA and boxing are just so different. I am so sick of MMA at this point but I would still rather watch two bums fight in MMA than two laundry mat workers box.
Boxing skews all towards the mega star and the potential mega star. They won't be able to monopolize boxing the way they have the UFC. It wouldn't have worked in MMA either if you already had McGregor level mega stars when the UFC started.
