It doesn't improve his resume at all because what is loss is gained.
What would improve Mayweather's resume is if Canelo continues to win against good opponents, but Canelo's nothing that special.

    I love the exaggerations.

    "Masterclass"

Does that mean that Floyd was lucky to beat Canelo due to the fact that 1 judge scored the bout a draw?

There's a reason CJ Ross stepped down after scoring that fight a draw.

Agreed. It was a terrible card. Point is, sometime you gotta use what your eyes tell you, and not use the narrative that the official cards tell. The fight last night was far, far closer than Mayweather-Canelo was. Certainly no masterclass.

LOL last night’s fight was CLOSER than Mayweather Canelo???

How is a UD closer than a Majority Decision?? Dave Moretti one of the most respected judges in boxing had last night 11 rounds to 1 in favor of Canelo. That’s way wider than Canelo - Mayweather was.

Last night’s fight had more action, and was in some ways more exciting than Floyd - Canelo. Floyd Canelo was closer because both guys were trying to box each other, and it was more of a chess match than last night.

Last night wasn’t a chess match like Floyd Canelo, last night both guys were staying in the pocket and eating punches. Canelo was more dominant over Cotto than Mayweather was over Cotto. Floyd couldn’t hurt Cotto like Canelo was able to hurt Cotto last night.

Last night was a masterclass. Canelo was more masterclassful last night than Floyd was (vs Canelo or Cotto)

    :yep

You're either playing devil's advocate, or you didn't read what I said about using the narrative of the official scorecards.

Mayweather-Canelo was not close, except to CJ Ross.

Canelo-Cotto was a close, competitive fight in which every single round was hotly contested.

So it was a near robbery, in reality it was a shutout. That judge may just hate the way Money May fights and took away rounds.

One of Floyd's victims beat another one, so zero change to Floyd's resume.

It's not even a contest. Jordan had the audacity to lose.

For enlightened fans with the most discriminating tastes, this is inexcusable.

MVC is too modest and classy to outwardly agree, but he knows this to be true.

All of these other supposed "greats" in other sports were mere placeholders. Until Floyd. Imagine a QB that won the Super Bowl every year he played. Or an NBA player that won every championship and MVP every year.

That's Floyd. Take the best parts of Jordan, Chamberlain, Brady, Montana, and then blow it up. Because that composite superman still is only bound to let you down when you really just need an athlete to win every. single. time.
