    I believe the former.

my question about lara was his ability to take a punch and his ability to do whatever he needs to do to win.

both those questions were answered Saturday night.

that type of punishment that lara received does not ruin a fighter in one fight. he was never out on his feet. however, the type of punishment that angulo received most assuredly ruins a fighter...and angulo is more than likely ruined. especially taking into consideration the amount of punishment he absorbed with Kirkland.

I cant see why anyone, although the vast majority people here don't have a penny to their name, cant wait to bet on lara.

erislandry lara is now a proven commodity.

these are the type of guys that you bet on.

Because you are not focusing on what mattered in this fight. Footwork/coaching. Prime Angulo would have had circles run around him with the exact same outcome or worse. Shot Angulo with good footwork forced exchanges and exhausted Lara making this a competitive fight. This fight should have been a complete blow out. It wasn't due to the improvements in FOOTWORK. He still gets blasted out by power, but any guy who doesn't have that eraser or a monster motor is in trouble.

It says a few things. One that Lara is sharp, determined, and has heart. A REAL top level fighter. (I always felt that though.) Another is that pressure can break him if a fighter has been coached with the right footwork. Hill has arrived.

I don't get why you guys don't see how game changing this footwork/coaching was. :nut:lol:

P.S. You are right. Angulo may be done.

your opinion is valid, but i believe so is mine. we will have to wait and see how lara does against the likes of canelo or cotto to see whos focus is sharper when dissecting fights.

    low work rate?

    what are you talking about?

lara threw 520 punches in nine and a half rounds rounds. that's 55 punches/round against a guy(angulo) that was on pace to throw 900 and possesses a 75 percent ko ratio.

and this after being put on the canvas twice.

    ***********.***********.com/forums/view.php?pg=angulo-lara-compubox

low work rate is what was established by canelito against trout.

    ***********.***********.com/forums/view.php?pg=canelo-trout-compubox

    431 punches in twelve rounds(36 punches/round) against a guy(trout) with a 52 percent ko ratio.

erislandry lara is the real deal.

against vanes lara only threw 257 punches!

against molina, lara threw 566 punches but got outlanded by 39 punches!

I know you have a hard on for canelo, but this thread is about lara and how overrated he is.:good

So you think Canelo can't pressure ass good as Angulo??? Are you nuts?? Because I do, if Canelo ever fights Lara that will be his game plan I don't think he's dumb enough to try to "outbox" him don't think?? Especially when he knows Lara weakens is to pressure him and pound that body, I think Canelo can pressure him much better than punching bag Angulo ever could, He will use he's jab to close the gab and push him to the ropes and pound him with left hooks and uppercuts on top, Canelo is no slow walking punching bag he can move inside using his defense and hand speed SOMETHING ANGULO DOESN'T HAVE.

    agreed.

and thats why i am bullish on lara now. he showed too much caution in the vanes fight and in the angulo fight showed what hes capable of.

when was the last time someones face was that grotesquelly busted up?

    holyfield/rahman and hopkins/joppy.

    both hof fighters.

erislandry lara is the real deal because he can overcome adversity and score a ko win when needed.

canelitos going to pressure throwing 35 punches a round(what he averaged agaisnt trout)?

against a guy(lara) that has the power to cause massive facial trauma unlike austin?

    oh.

    okay.

by the way, i didnt see canelito doing what you are proposing against rhodes, mosley or trout.

three guys that went 12 rounds with the wrecking ball, soon to be hall-of-famer canelito alvarez.

You fail to mention that the fight against Molina was a draw.

And it is completely wrong and shows that people don't understand what the hell they are seeing.

Lara is a beast. As soon as Canelo starts fighting legit contenders it will be evident. :deal

Nuts? What makes you think he can? The guy is REGULARLY huffing after 3 rounds. No way Alvarez can apply pressure like Angulo did. Also, we don't know if Alvarez has the footwork Angulo did.

He will use his jab against a superior Pure Boxer with a better jab, devastating cross, and insane mobility. That makes no sense.

Yeah Alvarez is a fleet footed master of movement. BS! Angulo has stamina, workrate, and used beautiful footwork. Things Alvarez doesn't have.

Please show us the fight that Alvarez displayed the high workrate and ability to cut off the ring that Angulo did. You can't. Man you guys are turning into Canelotards.
