And THAT is why Pacquiao wouldn't fight Cotto at 154.

He gets beat easier because he's slower.

Maybe in Pacland, but in reality Pac knew better than to **** with Cotto at the higher weight, and not Mannyweight

Cotto couldn't beat Pac if he had 3 hands.

Cotto's style plays right into Pac's strength. Pac beat him easy. Stop getting your panties in a bunch.

We've seen his peak against Pacquiao, and I would concede we've seen Pacquiao's peak in that fight. It's all downhill since for both.

Cotto was gassed after 6 rounds, he clearly likes being at 154..! because he does not have to train as hard, or eat as healthy. He looks like he has love handles and a excess layer of body fat at 154, he is comfortable at the weight.........but being comfortable is not always the best, and does not always mean the best possible athletic condition.

Miguel Cotto is great fighter, but he has lazy work ethic in my opinion. I used to think 154 was his best weight, but i doubt it after afew recent performances.

Miguel Cotto moved up to 154, because he is lazy.....

Cotto was peak in the Margarito fight when he was 147. Fighting with weight restrictions like against Pacquiao is not a peak fighter.

I agree with you... But I would feel more comfortable co-signing after we see what happens June 9... Pac shouldn't have much trouble with TIM, but if he does I'm inclined to re-evaluate where PAC might be at this point if his career. We've seen fighters fall off after taking on too much outside if the sport which ends up effecting their ability inside the ring. Cotto vs Pac 2 is very appealing right now but if Pac can't deliver like everyone is expecting then Pac won't have the kind of options he holds at the moment.

wth ? no cotto was not drained or well the weight didnt affect it, it was the fact that they chose to fight cotto when he had NO real trainer, was probably not fully recovered from the pac fight, styles too. Cmon :patsch

Pac after the Margarito fight said. "I will never fight above 147 again". You may wonder why he said that. Now this is the fact. Pac all fights at welterweight including the Margarito fight at 150. He never weigh in above 149 even during the fight. Pac whoever he will fight at 154 will always put him into big weight disadvantage giving his opponent a 15-20 size advantages during the fight. Only the Pac haters will call it a fair fight as they dying to see Pac lose.

Pac actually murdered margarito, who weighed 164 at fight time.

So it is not like he cannot take a punch from Miguel Cotto.

On the other hand, Cotto cannot take Pac's punch, regardless what weigh it is. That does not even count the fact that everytime Cotto connects, Pac answers with 2-3 punches in a much rapid combination - and with power.

That Cotto was slower han the welterweight version.

Wasn't it Pacquiao's first or second fight at welter? Anyway Cotto as far as I remember, Cotto had never fought above welter himself at that time. The weight was entirely fair - no reason to go changing history.

    You, no *****?

Cotto's best weight apparently is at 154 where he defeated Yuri Foreman, Antonio Margarito (courtesy of a broken eye).

pac making 154 is like cotto making 168! its just too far to go!!! sure they could possibly make the weight but would be at a huge disadvantage. people need to realize that fighters have limits. Pac tried to fight at 150, sure he fought at 150 but he weighed much less and gave away 17 lbs to Margarito so it shows that they are at a huge disadvantage. Floyd has fought at about 150-160 fight night for a long time now so making 154 is easy for him. cotto is now a 154 fighter, to try get pac (one of the smallest WW ever seen) to fight at 154 and then have to give away 15+ lbs is just not right!

Which is exactly why Pac wouldn't take the fight at 147 or 154? :think

Do you think Mayweather "made" 154?

You don't have to make 154 idiot. Weight limits are MAXIMUMS.

    *******s are the worst. :barf
