Chambers is a slightly overweight cruiser. He does well at HW but naturally his body screams CRUISER. ...but he is the earned mandatory, what should Wlad do? "Sorry Eddie, you´re to small for me!"?
I'd like to see one of the Klits lose on ESPN when they don't use their size well enough so Teddy Atlas can go on a rant about not "fighting tall".
Would you have been happier if the judges screwed Eddie and gave Dimitrenko the win so a larger man would've had the title shot instead? If Chambers were good enough, the size difference wouldn't matter; Jack Dempsey overcame twice the weight disparity Chambers is facing when he destroyed Willard. Besides, Wlad's no cherry picker- he fights everyone whether they're big, small, or have a stylistic advantage over him. He doesn't get enough credit for that IMO. The final irony? In 3 of his last 7 fights (counting Chambers), Wlad's been outweighed by his opponent. And he stopped all 3 of them. So, what's he cherrypicking other than the best available contender?
If Wlad lost on ESPN, boxing would die in America because the next thing to happen would be Teddy Atlas having a continuous 5 minute orgasm live on the air.
So now, Wlad should get credit for fighting guys his own size? Isn't that what everyone south of HW does? So if Hopkins fights a tomato can that weighs 175 lbs, he should get credit? Please, i'm talking about the highest level here. Of course, Wlad has some skill and is athletic for a guy his size but he does have huge advantages over many of the smaller, upper echelon HWs like Ibraginov, Chambers and Povetkin. Stop mentioning some tomato can just as big as him. Talk about "elite" HWs who are the same size as him. None exist. All are smaller.
Dimitrenko isn't anything like Wlad. Agreed there. But he's far from a tomato can. The whole problem is your thread is based on Wlad is much bigger, which is the main reason he dominates and that's not true and you don't even seem to believe that.
The difference is that Valuev is barely an athelete so his size is less relevant because he has so many other weaknesses. Wlad on the other hand is a very good athelete and has serious boxing skills, so he's unlike the valuev's, mike whites, primo carnera and other goliaths. Wlad is a very good boxer, but his size is a very big factor in his dominance as anyone can see.
Vlad won the gold medal in the superheavyweight division. Void/Haye fans can't lie about that. Void fans hate Vitali and Vladimir Klitschko, plus Boytsov and any Euro fighter who exists, including Euro descendants of such. They appeared to have been successful in having a writ-in campaign to boycott all Klitschko fights now and in the future. It is extremely doubtful that any Klitschko fight will ever be shown on USTV ever again.
When was the last time he fought a truly "elite" HW, like himself, that had a very similiar weight and height?
His size is a factor of course, but you're making my point for me. If the size were such an overwhelming factor that his wins were dependent on it, we wouldn't be talking about how vastly better he is than Valuev who is a more punch resistant, much much larger fighter with decent fundamentals.
Vlad knocked out Derrick Jefferson who was 6 feet 6 inches tall. Vlad knocked out Austin who was 6 feet 6 inches tall. Vlad knocked out Thompson who was 6 feet 6 inches tall. Vlad knocked out Bostice who was 6 feet 5 inches tall, etc.
So you are admitting that he has never fought another "elite" HW who came close to his height/weight right? All the "elite" HWs he fought were noticeably smaller, correct?
