    I know it would have been nice to have someone different, but on this day, he is the man.

    Roberto Duran, that unique warrior, in the final of this tournament beat the great Henry Armstrong to prove the best man to compete in it.

    Teeto Trinidad promotions wants to thank every poster on East Side Boxing's Classic forum who participated in the voting process which enabled this tournament to progress from stage to stage, and strength to strength.

    Nice record. In my old lightweight tournament it was Benny Leonard who won, all I can remember is that he beat Pernell Whitaker in the first round and Ken Buchanan in the final :lol:

    It was interesting to say the least.

    That's some great fighting to think about right there. I think Whitaker actually beat Leonard in the first stage of this tourney.

    I think he is #1 head to head.

    Do you think that Sugar is more dominant head to head at 147 than Duran is at 135? (You know which Sugar I mean).

    yes...i hate to say it but at 147 sugar is the man. period. in 100 fights he MIGHT lose 1. duran might lose 2. there ain't much between them but robinson eeks out the dominance factor.

    Well very hard to say, i mean, there's hardly a wrong answer, but if i had to pick by way of splitting hairs, then i'd say Robinson.

    Gosh there's a shocker.
    I'm not saying I agree by any means.
    Benny Leonard, Pernell Whitaker (who faced each other in the first round :huh)
    Floyd Mayweather and Henry Armstrong (at least by the logic of the thread that had Armstrong beating Whitaker). Would beat him.
