Ok i think most of you misunderstood what i was trying to say.
I have nothign against head movement. It's great to see someone use it (when he needs it).

What i'm saying...is that (in anderson's case) it's quite sad that it only took a few boxing moves to beat his opponent. (who's supposed to be an mma fighter).

What does that tell you ?

It means that any boxer can do it. Hell , no more worries about takedowns , submissions and wrestling.

it shouldn't work...because any descent mma fighter with half a brain wouldn't and shouldn't fall for this trap. It's ****ing mma , take advantage of the rules...try something else

A few things stopped Forest trying to take it to the ground

Silva was too fast and sharp - either to be taken down, or he'd have reacted to Griffins attempt with a brutal knee, or stuffed it and folloed up with a series of strikes

Even if he had got him down, what would Griffin have done on the ground anyway?

Anderson had already severely wobbled his senses. At the time of the finish, Griffin was seriously hurt, just trying to keep on his feet was an effort, nevermind have the clarity of thought to execute a gameplan

Griffin was simply totally outclassed, trying to take the fight to the ground wouldnt have changed anything

    Ugh, no its not.

Mercer/Sylvia was surprising because it was an MMA match and a 48 year old, washed up boxer put Sylvia out in 9 seconds. If Sylvia intended to box, it didnt last long, he attempted a kick almost immediately.

Silva is and will always be an overrated ground fighter. Is he bad? No. Is he great? Probably not. Is he good? Yes.

But yeah, I see what you're saying. Griffin fought a real stupid fight. It was clear from the beginning he was going to be outclassed. But he kept standing and trading blows. No takedown attempts, nothing.

And you make it seem as if these boxing moves are easy to pull off. They are actually quite difficult to against a live opponent even against some MMA'er.

You rarely see this kind of stuff in MMA, that alone should tell you something. Very few people can do it.

Silva won that fight via KO if i recall. The guy he fought looked like he'd only picked up boxing gloves yesterday. And he also looked at least 3 divisions smaller than him.
