I too think Jones would kick his ass. I remember getting into an arguement with my brother about the same subject about a year and a half ago. He was telling me how great Liddell was, and I was agreeing. I said in a head to head fight he'd probably beat someone like Jones, but not in a boxing match. No chance. A true boxer learns so many subtle things an MMA will never see. How to keep their chin in, how to roll with a punch, how to maximize leverage, footwork, there's all kinds of subtle things going on. Add that to Jones, power and speed, especially in his prime, and no MMA his size can go toe to toe with him in a boxing match.

Something like that. He just got it into his head that MMA fighters are better than boxers. Maybe cause of the number of KO's. He's not into boxing so the size of the glove and the inexperience of an MMA fighter getting hit would explain why so many of them get KO'd. They wouldn't roll with the punches the way a boxer would, or counter, or throw as straight of punches..all these factors favour boxers..not sure why you would think an MMA fighter could beat an elite boxer at boxing.. Doesn't make much sense to me.

Silva has a great chin, he'd be stopped by an accumulation of punishment rather than a single shot.

Roy would dominate him in a boxing match. Silva has great offense, but the majority of his offense is based on other factors in MMA, such as the clinch, knees, kicks, elbows, etc. He is a good boxer with good movement, but not on Roy's level. Also, he's open on defense, mostly because he's so willing to take a shot to give a much more effective one.

In an MMA or Muay Thai match though, Roy would be beaten just as bad.

No way Silva wins this, especially with boxing gloves, with 4oz MMA gloves, Silva has a chance, because in all honesty anyone with a punch has a chance in MMA, it's been proven time and time again.

Things to remember, Roy has shaky whiskers, but he still knows how to take a punch he sees coming, and in MMA most KO's are when guys are stupid and don't see punches coming, same in boxing.. you just see a lot of vicious KO's in MMA because most guys are stupid and aren't ready to take a shot, they come in like Katsidis did in that last round versus Cass.. he never saw it, and if you watch almost every MMA KO it's the same ****, dumbass swings wildly and get's countered when he's looking the other way.

No way that Silva catches Roy like that, Silva would get schooled.

Watch that video closely, in the sparring he let the guy hit him because his guard was so low, but the guy he was sparring was going half-assed, and the way he punches is VERY poor, he swings his shots a lot, and those big hooks would be counter heaven for any top level boxer... he could probably beat tomato cans on pure athleticism and aggression, but top 20 guys would destroy him.

roy would beat him, just like he would beat roy in an MMA match. one thing i will say aboyd Silva is that he throws very straight crisp punches, not ;ooping at all.

Roy is past it, and Silva is quite good for somebody who isn't a boxer, but he won't win.

Silva isn't really a huge puncher, he's accurate, but he doesn't really put people out with one shot, and I don't see him winning without a KO, he won't outpoint Roy over 36 minutes.

what even funnier is that the only reason they would pick jones is because they think he is shot. and a big name that is shot. they wouldn't dare put him in the ring with dawson,kessler,b-hop, JC,

hell i bet liabardo would whoop that ass and look like RJJ doing it:yep

that being said rjj by 1st degree

Yeah Roy is shot but it's gonna be funny as **** and that will make it even sweeter. What's Silva gonna do when Roy drops a 8 punch combo on his ass? This **** is gonna to look like one of those fighting video games where you can do 10 hit combos and ****.:bbb  :rofl  Silva is gonna make Roy look he had a time machine and went back in time to 1996 when Roy was at 168 and a god with gloves. :rofl  :rofl Like my boy Terell Owens AKA "TO" says "Get your popcorn ready" because this **** is gonna be pure comedy.:yep

Roy Jones by embarrassment over Spider in a boxing match....

I'd probably feel badly for Silva, like I'd feel badly for Roy if he tried MMA against an elite fighter. But that being said I don't think this comes off....

Wasn't Ali going to fight Wilt Chamberlain?

i see rjj winning this either tko/ko, ud or sd. rjj is way past his prime so it doesn't really matter how he wins it.
