agreed. people need to realise that weight jumping in MMA is a different creature than boxing because it's a game of weaknesses - and you open yourself up more by jumping out of your natural weight class

 

No its a different game because the weight classes are further apart. If there were seventeen weightclasses we'd see people moving up all the time.

Dana makes more money from his dominant champions and cash cow's defending their titles.

The last thing he wants is one of them losing to another.

We'll never see GSP vs Silva, Silva vs Bones. We'll never see Bones vs JDS either if JDS becomes dominant.

Dana does not make the best fight's all the time.

Some people moan about boxing and claim that MMA always puts the best against the best and puts on the greatest fights possible. WRONG!

Some people think that Zuffa would have made Pac vs Mayweather if they had control of them. WRONG!

They'd have been kept them apart just like GSP and Silva have.

 

There was a time when a GSP-Silva made sense when both guys had cleaned out their divisions at the time and Dana was considering it. but recently both divisions have had contenders emerge so nobody is really calling for that fight anymore. Besides nobody knows if GSP could get by Vitor or Sonnen so why should he get to fight Silva?

Jones has only a couple defenses and still has Rashad-Davis winner and Hendo waiting.

JDS hasn't even had a title defense yet?

Edgar has only had a couple defenses.

Aldo might move up in weight eventually anyhow.

The "superfight" idea is over rated because the smaller guy should move up in weight permantly not just go up for a free pass.

Look at the last BJ-GSP fight BJ got pummeled by Diaz and couldn't get by Fitch. That fight was more timing then anything.
