Sometimes referred to as a "sacrifice" escape.

Well, easier said than done and he still has to actually do it. Neither GSP nor his fans can afford to overlook Matt Serra. I never expected Serra to TKO GSP in their first fight - but it is entirely possible that Serra could submit GSP in the rematch. Serra's submissions game is much stronger than GSP's.

Whats amazing is how a legit JJ player like Lutter fell for it.

I was thinking the exact same thing when it happened.

Yeah, he sure was gassed from holding mount and raining down blows. He got owned like a ***** at his own game, face it.

Anderson handled Murray and outclassed him. Were you watching a different fight? Murray was the one constantly getting hurt.

Also, that was nowhere near the Anderson of today.

Ok. buddy, show me single person who knows what they're doing "lure" someone from bottom of the mount by sticking their hands out. Video, technique, ANYTHING. :patsch

Aww, didn't find anything? So sad. This is the most moronic thing U've said by far. "Lured him by sticking his arms out..." :rofl

As has been said by others in this thread as well, it's a technique, albeit a dangerous one. Why the hell would he just old his arms straight out, not even attempting to block a punch? Maybe you would do that with no plan, but not an experienced BJJ practitioner. It worked to a tee as well, in case you didn't notice. Just because you're always wrong when you pick a fight involving Anderson and still think Fat Fedor is God doesn't mean you should spread your nonsense here.

I will pursue your digression if you wish. Then again, u still haven't found anything that would show this dumbass technique as viable technique? You justify it by questioning "why would he just throw his arms out there"? So because he did it, it MUST have been a purposeful move. To me it looked like he was in survival mode for a second and was try to shake him off someway. This is NOT a technique that anyone would teach. This is NOT a smart move. It just HAPPENED to work because Lutter did a LAZY ASS attempt at an armbar.

For you(who claims to know something about BJJ) here's a little lesson:
Lutter FELL into the armbar(which is LAZY way). The way you're supposed to do it, is grab one arm with both hands(one behind tricep the other one usually on the forearm/wrist) and keep EVERYthing tight. You will actually put the person on the side when draggin that arm. THEN you go and switch your body for an armbar. Lutter of all people knows that. So if you think it was Lutter's actual attempt at an armbar and not a "dead tired/gassed man"'s attempt at an armbar, then you know **** of BJJ or at least of how to do armbars.

Always wrong? Good job speaking out of your ass, why don't u make some more stuff up?

BTW, why don't you show me some source of that move so I can go back to my school and teach few blackbelts this new incredible technique.

Forget this nonsense, just rewatch the fight and hear Rogan going crazy like he found out something not many know..."Silva was offering his arm as a decoy" Rogan cant believe Lutter went for it..This was televised bro...seriously

Ive been thinking the same thing when I watched Lutter-Silva the other night on Unleashed. The way Anderson just stuck his arms straight up in the air stiff and recovered extremly quick soon as Lutter went after the armbar to me showed that it was him playing posume to a degree. Anderson Silva is a true innovater of violence.
