Anderson Silva Likely Sidelined Until Mid-2012

UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva is currently nursing an injured shoulder and it appears he will be on the shelf for several months. Following his win in Brazil in August, Silva was reported to have bursitis in his shoulder that forced the reigning 185-pound king to take some time off to allow the healing to begin.

Sonnen should have a fight in the meantime.

White isn't a fan of ring rust and Sonnen has already dropped in interviews he wants to fight.

Give Sonnen Munoz and give Vitor Wanderligh II in Japan...

 

I think Sonnen vs. Hendo or Sonnen vs. Bisping/Miller are the best choices. Great fights for FOX, and very competitive.

I hate how good Silva is with his weight and how awesome he is in the ring but how injury prone he is.

 

Doubt that he would be considered the P4P #1 if he went into all his fights with injuries

The thought crossed my mind. Might be stalling until the next Brazil card, but it's probably not that. Maybe he just wants him to make Sonnen wait? Who knows.

 

Or a 36 year old veteran of 35 fights may actually have a busted up shoulder. Nah that's crazy talk.

 

Bursitis is such a debilitating condition. Be brave young warrior.
