Silva managed to hurt Henderson and get him to the ground. IMO he could have KO'd Henderson towards the end if Henderson wouldn't have dropped. As long as he (silva) wouldn't get caught with any big shots himself, I don't see Chuck winning this. Remember, Keith Jardine had a lot of success with Chuck by moving in and out and kicking. But then Again, Chuck is taller than most guys Silva has faced.

Am I the only one who thinks this is actually a decent matchup for Liddell?

On a second note - How about Silva-Machida for a title eliminator at 205? Not that Machida doesn't already deserve a shot, but still.

I think Chuck's well on the downside of his career at this point. He's had his share of wars and he's partied his ass off.

Wanderlei was a great style matchup in that he came right at him and doesn't throw straight puches. He neglected his Muay Thai as well for some reason. Chuck also had a significant height/reach advantage against Wand. None of those would be the case against Anderson. I think style wise, this one definitely favors The Spider.

Both guys have the KO power to finish one another off without question..

Something to consider is that Silva doesn't maintain that comfortable height advantage he has had against every opponent he has faced to date.. When you watch Anderson, he can be very good defensively with head movement, but that type of movement is only good when you know you can time your opponents strikes.. Chuck isn't exactly a predictable striker in that sense.. Most of his knockouts come from very random looping shots that guys don't expect half the time.. So Chuck has a very decent shot imo. I wouldn't say this is a gimme for Anderson at all.

I would say that anderson silva is the best striker in the UFC today. He is just so accourate with his shots. If I had to put money on this fight. It would be Silva 100%

I'd like to see Anderson have a warm up at 205; just to see what the extra weight does to him. Also, give Liddell enough time to properly rehab. If he's gonna beat Silva, he's gonna need to stay moving all night long.

Chuck has tons of chance to win this, in fact I'd back him to. He's much bigger framed than Silva and will prob. way outweigh him on the night; I could even envision Chuck taking him down and pounding him out.

    liddel would be destroyed.

If a lesser striker in Rampage can easily control the range against Liddel Silva will destroy Liddel.

Chuck should use his extensive amateur wrestling background and
try to get Anderson off his feet and use his huge size and strength
advantage to control , dominate and ground and pound his way to
a win. If Anderson does manage to get back to his feet he will be
tired and somewhat beat up and his strikes may have lost some of
their steam and accuracy. Maybe Chuck can try punching to the body
also to further wear down Silva. Chuck has a much bigger bone structure
and should have a massive strength advantage here and he just has to find
a way to use it against the phenomenal skillset of Anderson Silva.
