...The guy he was fighting was about 4ft 8 by the looks of it.

Silva gets destroyed by any legitimate Boxer.

Actually, he looks pretty damn good. For a guy who is actually a mixed artist he looks comfortable, quick and has good footwork.

To have that boxing ability on top of his muay thai and jujitsu you can see why his MMA skill level is so high. Obviously a really good athlete.

Anderson is not the best boxer in MMA, I'm sorry for all the MMA-fans who don't understand boxing!

He's got great footwork & reflexes... is hard to hit in the context of MMA...
However, Roy Jones even at this age will destroy Anderson!

The best boxers in MMA are:
Andrei Arlovski, Antonio ROGERIO Nogueira & Vitor Belfort....

BJ Penn is pretty good, also... he's got attributes that would've made him a good boxer had he dedicated his life to that... instead of jiujitsu & then MMA.

At least he is a 10 times better boxer than 95% of the kick- and thaiboxers.

I think the same. The throws very nice hooks and uppercuts.

arlovski is the only mma guy worth talking about in boxing, roach rates him dont think he has much of a chin though

i was surprised how bad silva looked here. his punches were weak for his size and anyone who has sparred knows how to move around a ring so nothing impressive for me there. the guy he was fighting was there to be hit

he does set up a lot of offence with his kicks, his muay thai is awesome as is his bjj

stick to mma. dana white knew fighting roy was a you tube KO to avoid

:nono Boxers in K1 are not even CLOSE to throwing punches as fluent as Silva. K-1 fighters are VERY stiff and robotic. :deal

to be fair though, this was a long time ago... & Anderson wasn't half as good a boxer he is now. This is a long time ago! He wasn't p4p t3 in MMA at the time, not even close. He was just a good Muay Thai guy!

    ---

Rogerio & Vitor would've been good boxers had they dedicated their lives to that.

Vitor was immensely talented from like 16 to 19!

He's now working with Shawn Tompkins at Xtreme Couture, who has him using his forgotten weapons-- jabs, straight left & short-right hooks.
From his early UFC rampage days up until losing twice to Overeem... he was more of a blitz-guy, not really looking to box.. more to just punch. Now it's changing, though... exciting times ahead for Vitor in MMA.

    K-1 MAX, I disagree big-time.

    Masato. There you go.

I loved that one fight where Masato boxed the **** out Buakaw (who is a beast in Muay Thai.... even though in K-1 he loses his elbows because of the rules!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YZuTaRDsww <-- though due to copyright & rights.. Affliction don't have any of Vitor's fights from PRIDE or his UFC days to show!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiETcFxbLrg <-- straight-left, baby!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-AQn1lzz_s <--- Pro Boxing Debut (after basically starting to go into a mega-slump in MMA; debut was like a decade too late!). he was 215 lbs there I think (as he was most of his career... WAY TOO MUCH FOR his frame). Now he walks around 200ish & cuts to 185

You wanna see Vitor's hands in MMA, though... just check out some good HL's of his.
He always had great handspeed from an early age.

Any MMA fighter will have a hard time making the transition into boxing because of the stance. I love MMA and boxing, if one is not on I watch the other, they both work for me as I train both, but MMA to boxing will never be an easy transition and boxing to MMA can work but when you have no ground game your stuffed.
