Watching his devastating performance on Spike I believe that he WOULD beat Jones by knockout win. He one punched his opponent after moving up in weight from 185 to 205. It would be a huge promotion!
na... no mma fighter could fight successfully agains someone equal to his skill level in the boxing world and no boxer could fight successfully against someone equal to his skill level in the mma fighting world
Here is what I think on this : The guy he knocked out though a very good mma fighter in his own right was not in a boxing ring and not named Roy Jones .. Im assuming you think this guys is tapping Jones on the jaw and it be lights out ? Let him take a tune first in a boxing ring first before he is even put in the ring against Jones ..With all the great natural abilities Jones had in his prime I see no threads about him in a mma fight .. Once the dynamics change the stragedy had to change ..Hell I even saw that from mma fighters when switching divisions .. Kro Kop got Ko ed twice in his return to the UFC...He had trouble adjusting from a boxing ring to a cage ..Silve would end up looking sad agaisnt Jones sad ...
Are you saying that Silva should box RJJ? Bear in mind that the 'one punch' Silva put his opponent down with was because the dude dropped his hands after Silva trapped his leg against his side with his left arm. So he basically had a free shot right at his face, which he used to devastating effect. Would he have that against RJJ? No. Boxing and MMA are two entirely different sports. One can help prepare you for aspects of the other, but by no means guarantees you any success whatsoever.
Silva stated a few months ago that he would like to fight Roy Jones in a boxing match. There was serious talk. Silva could make at least $5 million for a fight like that and have a good shot at knocking out a legend.
**** mma who cares. I mean if that floats your boat then go watch it. Boxing is a whole different deal.
Silva is an awesome striker, but his leg kicks and knees are his primary weapons, his hands are auxiliary to that. He throws the much wider, more looping shots customary to MMA rather than the much crisper punches that RJJ throws. I think taking a straight boxing match against RJJ would be a huge mistake.
When Roy is 60 he will still beat a prime Silva in boxing. That's all there is to it. There is a huge skill differential. Boxing: Roy wins 99 out of 100 fights. MMA: Silva wins 70 out of 100 fights. Unless Roy learns some basic ground game.
U must be completely insane. Silva would get Kod very early, Did you see the KO, he grabbed the guys leg then threw a right. Jones would butcher this comedian
He should fight him. Just so RJJ can dishearten any other's who feel they would be able to change from MMA to boxing.
