You know , I've been rewatching this fight just recently and this particular loss isn't humiliating or a huge stain on Silva's record. Sure , no one likes to lose but frankly...the way chonan ended this was just a work of genius... It's as if Chonan was becoming "the" best mma fighter for an instant...in just a few seconds...He pulled one of the best submission move in mma history... what were the odds of pulling a move like that?...perfect timing , perfect technic...out of nowhere.
Not a loss to be "ashamed of" for sure, but Chonan was winning the fight before the sub as well, which was pretty unexpected.
That's all in the past now guys, the boy Silva has grown into an absolute monster since then , like the great Bernard Hopkins lost to Jones earlier in his career he got over it and improved hugely and that's what Silva has done, imo he's the most exciting fighter in the whole of mma and his technical ability along with his striking is poetry in motion, and his ground game is class too, let's not live in the past, Silva is the truth right NOW.
