This is a fight that has been talked about, the problem would be trying to get the fight made. I don't think Dana White would let Anderson Silva fight someone with Cung Le's credentials who fights in EliteXc. I would love to see it and i'm sure everyone in here would as well. Standing wise, I'd take Cung over Silva, but if it's fought on the ground, I'd take Silva. The biggest ? would be could Silva take Cung to the ground? If this fight ever does take place, I'd say 50/50. I like Cungs chances in this one though, and he's the only one I'd pick to beat Silva at this point.

Silva wins very easily in the 1st by KO.

The Spider. His striking is better suited to MMA (especially his knees in the clinch), and his ground work is lightyears ahead of Cung. Cung's wrestling is surprisingly good, but it's not good enough to avoid Silva's Jits.

That doesn't mean his striking is better than Cung's. If it's just based on purely striking, I'll go with Cung. I don't have no arguement when your talking about the ground. And Cung uses good takedown defense to aviod shoots, as he showed against Frank Shamrock, who also is light yrs. better than Cung Le on the ground, but it never got to that point, and we all know why.

Shamrock fought a stupid fight and made no legitimate attempts at a takedown. He went for one once, after slipping, and it was half-hearted at best. But that's beside the point.

Silva's striking works better in MMA. That's just the way it is. In a sport where it's easy to get into a clinch, his knees are much for efficient and effective than Cung's looping kicks.

Shamrock try to shoot in the beginning and was unsucessful, so I don't wanna hear any excuses, he was the better man and beat Shamrock. And just cause more combinants uses Silva's striking more than Le's doesn't mean he can out strike Le. Le is also faster than anybody Silva striked which is also something your leaving out. Lets just wait and see if the fight ever happens so we talk about it more, and than we'll all see. I expect you would make 100 excuses for Silva if he got beat by Le.

That's why I'd like to see it because I think he'd be one of the few fighters that would have a chance.

Cung Le has a better chance against Anderson Silva than most strikers in MMA today. I am a big fan of both fighters. I would love to see it happen. It will never happen unless Cung can get away from Strikeforce and compete in the UFC. I know Cung has expressed an interest in making the fight - but the UFC loves their exclusive contracts. Cung isn't a big enough name outside of the Vietnamese-American community to make people demand the fight. However - nothing is impossible in MMA. Who could have predicted Pride folding and the ensuing exodus of their fighters into the UFC. Once Strikeforce goes down the tubes - Cung might pop up in the UFC.

    That sums it up perfectly.

I just disagree with you on how good that chance is, lol.

Cung gets hit way more than Silva, has much less power, and is worlds below him on the ground.

Cung Le fights as a counterpuncher - so he does get hit - that is true. However - what he lacks in power with his hands - he more than makes up for with power in his legs. His kicks are possibly the most dangerous in MMA today.

He broke Shamrocks arm, so that says it all. Shamrock has never stopped until that.

    Most dangerous?

He throws a lot of ineffective kicks. Sometimes I just hang my head after he throws side kick after side kick. I think Silva has more power everywhere.
