Seagal is fat but he really is an awesome martial artist. 7th degree blackbelt in Aikido. And Seagal trained in Japan with the old school Japanese teachers. Those guys are rough.
Boxing IS a martial art silly. Martial meaning War or fight and Art meaning expression. Martial Art means "Expression of War" or "Expression of fighting." Boxing is a type of combat and the science of fist fighting. Plus, punching is a huge part of most martial arts systems.
If he is such a great boxer why does he not do it? He makes under a million a fight like all ufc fighers.
Those guys are not tough. anymore. perhaps long ago. aikido is a joke and has been for some time. Training in Japan doesn't mean anything. Seagal trained there, married a daughter of a big shot aikido guy and was given a dojo. it did not do well. he went to USA and met James Coburn and was helped into the movies. PR movie maker machinery started. people think he is/was a bad ass. doesn't make it so. He is and always has been a *****. he is a fat slob. a phony. went to the tibetan buddhists and was declared a reincarnated Tookul, (sp). give me a ****ing break. this man is more delusional than someone telling me they are Popye the sailor man.
atsch Samart Payakaroon - WBC junior featherweight Champ Khaosi Galaxy - Defended his WBA world title 19 times in seven years (19841991), winning 16 of his title fights by knockouts. A member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame he is widely considered as one of the greatest boxing champions of all time. He is listed #19 on Ring Magazine's list of 100 greatest punchers of all time. Somluck Khamsing - 1996 Olympic Gold medalists. Pongsaklek Wonjongkam - He is a former two-time World Flyweight Champion To name only a tiny few. Every Thai that has boxed was a Muay Thai fighter first and there have been many many many great traditional boxers form Thailand over the Years.
No they are not rough. :deal Seagal has never fought any body of any note. The guy is a talented martial "artist" not a fighter. We've had this running in an MMA thread all week.
Why? He lost his boxing debut and didn't make any noise in the Muay Thai world which he says is his main discipline. MMA suited him
What have you done with your life that gives you the standing to mock Seagal for the things he has done with his? :blood :hat
Pacquiao lost too in his early years, what does that have to do with anything? Pacquiao is def a different fighter now, so is Anderson. Anderson's striking is just insanity.
He earns much more than a million per fight. Not tens of millions, but he will have cleared better than three million dollars tonight. He gets a cut of the PPV buys, which forms the bulk of his purse and which is not listed in his disclosed pay. :hat
