Silva hates us, why would anyone want to be a fan of his? Smug, arrogant and fake. I think he is a great fighter but a shitty person.

 

Silva's always been a brash eccentric. I have no problem with him whatsoever. Personally i found the interview rather amusing. Especially his response to the interviewers long winded question with a simple "no".

 

I like Silva. MMA is a sport bottom line. Silva is one of the best at this sport. Who gives a **** about trash talking, if the sport is good (which it is) and the athletes are incredible it sells itself.

Imagine if Nadal and Federer starting trash talking each other to hype their matches.

GSP, Fedor, Silva... millions of people tune in to watch these guys and it has nothing to do with anything other than the fight itself.

 

The problem is with fans they get too caught up with what fighters say. Far as im concerned that means bugger all to me. Im a fan of the sport and i judge them on their performances. Yes talking trash may not endear you to some people but the fact that Silva is a PHENOMENAL talent in my eyes is good enough to make me a fan. If you have the skills to back up trash talk theres no problem. Matter of fact unique characters in this sport is what makes it more exicting.
