First, that's not true. Many of the champions and contenders of recent and current times have had a strong base in a certain art, be in awesome wrestling credentials, judo, BJJ, ect. Second, todays MMA has evolved the way it has because todays MMA is whats the most effective in fights. If thai boxing was the most effective, then you would see mainly thai boxers as the top guys. If Karate was the most effective, then you would see fighters heavily influenced by karate. But the most effective 'style' is the grappling based hybrid you see today. Its called evolution.
And how anyone can think, because of watching his mma fights, that he would somehow be a champ when up against actual pro boxers, had he chosen boxing, because of what he does to mma guys, is hilarious. However, I can tell you one thing. If Silva thought for a second he could have competed in boxing against the best, I can tell you he wouldn't be in MMA making a fraction of what hed make in boxing.
This is right on, he could have won a good percentage of his bouts but someone would ko him without a doubt.
Hahahahahah Quality bump. Anyone who ever felt anything close to what the thread starter implies is a complete ******. Let alone going all out the way MVC did. What a jackass...
