Welcome to the brit forum Methil. I usually look forward to Anderson fights but really have mixed feelings towards this one as I don't want to see either lose. Anderson really can't afford to suffer back to back losses at this stage of his career so I hope he can bounce back - just a shame that would be against McIntyre as I'd like to see him build on his success too.
I dont see how Anderson can reverse this, unless McIntyre cant get so up for the fight. Anderson kept telling us how Shannon had him in great shape, but got his ears boxed off to such an extent Id say it wasnt even very competitive. Unless Anderson can really hurt McIntyre, and showed little evidence of this last time, I dont see him winning. McIntyre UD.
McIntyre fought a great fight but Ando has never looked as bad as he did that night. To be fair to Ando he was involved in a tough bout just 7 weeks beforehand and didnt give himself enough time to rest never mind prepare (as a result he was looking very gaunt at the weigh in) I reckon Anderson will stop him in the latter half of the bout and will be ahead on all 3 judges cards at the time.
I think Mcintyre will win on point's, dont think he will get it all his own way this time but if Anderson was strong enough to stop him it would have happend last time. Mcintyre was still working part time at the last fight this time he has had 6 wks full training so i expect him to be better also. I kind of want both lad's to win both seem like good guy's.
I think anderson win win this fight by ko. He is more up for this fight than any other fight he's had. He has to win! If or when anderson wins who should he fight next?
Alright Methil, hows that end o Fife these days? Still a hole? Dunky and myself were talking about how Gilmour has progressed careers so far. He (Gilmour) did mention at one point about Kev getting a shot at Bonsu and the Euro title but that never materliased and Kev ended up fighting more domestic fights - Jones & McIntyre. Going to be domestic fights for the forseeable future I think - Craig Watson, Michael Jennings, winner of Matthew Hatton v Adnan Admar, Mark Thompson, David Barnes take your pick!! The list is pretty endless and Gilmour seems more than happy to keep on making domestic matches which is a pity because I think Kev needs some real motivation to get the very best of himself. Hell there might even be a 3rd fight with McIntyre in the not too distant future depending on the outcome of this one. Maybe sounds silly to some but I think Kev should forget about the British title now, imo it doesn't seem to motivate and bring the best out of him. I thought he was a bit flat in the fight with Jones although not that many agree and I think most now admit he took the McIntyre fight far to soon after. Focus on the Euro, it'll be a long road for him should he lose this one but it'll give him that motivation, hopefully put that spring back in his step and get him back to his very best. Too many on these boards judge him on the Numbembe and McIntyre fights alone. Kev can win the Euro title, I'm sure of this.
yeah think gilmore should have had kev fightin for the euro title insted of fightin mcintyre. kev's allready beat better fighter's than mcintyre! imo. Can't wait to go to the kelvin hall in to weeks and see anderson back to his best!
I think Anderson will win this one. He took the first fight too quickly after his previous one and paid the price. I still fancied him to beat the Tyre (before the fight), but getting clocked by a couple of big ones early on certainly ruined it for him, I was surprised Mac didn't manage to get him out of there within 8, judging by Anderson's performance.
I am going for Ando because I don't believe the first fight was the real Ando. I have seen Ando a number of times now and I think I know a good fighter when I see one. I don't see McIntyre as exceptional but I have seen Ando compete in higher class such as Nuumbembee, Okine, Magee etc therefore I can say the first McIntyre fight was an aberration. Furthermore one of the things I love about Ando is that he has not been a protected fighter and appears willing to take on all comers. One thing is for sure they make them tough up in Scotland.
Damn, I hate to have to give a prediction for this fight. Everyone here knows I am a big Ando fan, so Im picking Ando to win, but I have to admit I like McIntyre as hes from my neck of the woods & is nice fella. I cant even bear to go into reasons, cos I respect both guys too much.
I dont think anderson is euro level he's def found his level at British look at all the hard fights he's had, he takes far to many shots. When he beat Mutley he got battered for 9 rounds and Mutley only won the belt on a split so was not a great champ any way.
Anderson wins, although he had a bit of "James Hare" managment last year. "Quick, Sky will have him headline and pay us decent cash, get him fighting as much as possible" Cant believe he fought just 7 weeks after the Jones fight, which was tough!
If the real Anderson turns up McIntyre will get humped, Ando is in a different league I reckon, but too many fights too soon, the usual Tommy Gilmour mistake. A long rest would have done Ando good, just what he would have needed. Ando by ko
I, too, think Anderson will win this time around. He looked, as many have said on this board, a tired fighter in the first fight with McIntyre, who boxed faultlessly it must be said. I’ve been a big fan of Anderson since he fought down here against Young Mutley in 2006. What heart the lad showed that night. By the way, Mutley is looking for a fight with the winner of this up-coming fight, he hopes it’s Anderson, and has been told by the board that his name will be put forward for an eliminator. The chances are, should Matthew Hatton not fight on March 29 and withdraw (as is expected), Mutley will fight Amar for the vacant English title and it will couple as British welterweight title eliminator at a later date.
