Hendo has the tools to win this fight and so does Silva. It would be great if it was a classic type of fight tonight. I'm going to go with Silva
I can't make a prediction on this one because it could play out in so many different ways. My prediction is that the winner further establishes himself as a MMA legend.
silva's on a roll and comfortable at 185lbs. best ufc fighter now, imo hendo's still trying to reestablish himself in ufc and in middleweight division at that. Weight drain might be a determining factor. It will take its toll... silva via stoppage..
Going out on a limb and calling Anderson by late rounds stoppage, such as in the final 2 rounds, I'll call the 4th. I think the styles advantage favors Henderson, but I don't see him stopping Silva, and 5 rounds is a long ways to go without getting caught with something, and when he does, he's up against the best finisher in MMA. So I'll take Anderson by stoppage.
Dan Henderson by GnP stoppage or Decision. I just can't get the image out of my head of Lutter easily taking Silva down and then actually getting the mount on him. Henderson will control Anderson on the ground and if he could avoid being submitted by Big Nog I'd be surprised if Anderson could do it. I wouldn't be shocked if Anderson stopped him with strikes although.
Why do people keep saying "weight draining"????? On the countdown they said Hendo was a little over 192lbs and only had to cut about 7lbs for the weigh-in and with his wrestling experience he could do that by taking a **** in a sauna for 5 minutes.
There are some great analysis on this thread. It's hard to pick between these fighters because they both have the skills to get the other man out of there. My final thoughts on this is that Anderson Silva's speed will make the difference. I think Henderson's timing might be off after dropping down in weight. He will still be fighting at light heavyweight speeds - while Silva will be moving one half step ahead of him. Silva by UD or KO.
Both of the Nogueiras subbed him, Big Nog in the rematch(or rather the fight was stopped by the ref) and Lil Nog subbed him in their fight. He actually dominated him worse than Big Nog did.
How can you guys say Silva stops Hendo by strikes? Nobody has yet, I don't think Silva is any harder a striker then Belfort or Wanderlei or Jackson. If anything Dans chin is an asset. I can see a sub by Silva or a ref stoppage by G'n'P for Hendo. I guess I'll predict Hendo 3rd round TKO by strikes standing up with Silva stuck on the cage, hooks and uppercuts.
