Considering Haye isn't an MMA fighter if he called out Ken Shamrock to fight in an MMA match, I wouldn't have a problem with it. I would hardly expect Haye to challenge Fedor.

Would it make sense for Silva to suddenly challenge an elite boxer when he isn't a boxer himself? I think it makes much more sense for him to fight someone like Jones as he might actually have a chance, even if it's a long shot.

Don't get me wrong, I understand what you are saying. If Silva was really serious about boxing he should pursue it in stages, fighting younger, but less talented fighters to see if he has any chance of moving up to fight better guys. Yes, he is going for a payday by going after an old Roy.

But, to say he should challenge a top boxer makes even less sense. Similarly, if an elite boxer decided to try MMA, I would never expect him to immediately step in against one of the sport's best guys.

Oh no, dont get me wrong, id much rather him work his way up just like every other fighter in boxing.

But if hes going for a cash grab id much rather him fight a top-tier opponent than some 41 year old past his prime fighter in RJJ. To me, hes just exploiting a legend of the sport and lets be honest, most casual fans and the idiot MMA fans still somewhat think RJJ is relevant. Which is completely not the case. So if Silva were to win which he wont, hes just embarassing our sport.

MMA/K-1 really does a great job of exploiting old, past their prime boxers. Mercer fighting Kimbo, Mercer in K-1, Botha in K-1, Vince Phillips in K-1.

    Give me a break.

He should fight Hopkins. That should be interesting.
