On the PBC on Fox card headlined by García vs. Granados on Saturday. Dimitrenko was formerly a heavyweight contention mainstay but has now been absent from that rankings for a number of years. Ruiz, currently IBF #15 and WBA #11, is riding a 2-0 streak from last year after taking all of 2017 off following his first professional defeat to Joseph Parker in an unsuccessful WBO title bid in December of 2016. Dimitrenko has a five inch advantage in height and eight in reach, and is seven years older. They have a combined 46 kayos in 77 bouts.
I think the recently made Zab Judah vs. Cletus Seldin match. Deserves its own thread. If this goes the distance, Ruiz wins regardless, but he needs to be careful, I'm not sure he has the power to hurt Dimitrenko, but the reverse may not be true. Ruiz could end up walking onto a uppercut or a counter hook that puts him down. But in all likelihood, Ruiz via late TKO or UD.
If I lose this, if I'm Ruiz...retirement. Automatically. Dimitrenko should retire after this whoever wins.
I've never liked Ruiz, I always liked Dimitrenko. There's a picture where he looks like Povetkin's father it's hilarious Imo. Ruiz has great people around him, it's a disgrace when he let's himself go.
Ruiz on points. Dimi's size might give him some rounds but I think Ruiz's speed and punch selection sees him through
Ruiz by stoppage. Dimi lacks the will and heart nowadays to go the rounds with someone like the fast fatty.
Ruiz should win this Dimitrenko becomes a broken man so quickly in recent fights Ruiz vs Kownacki would be fun!
Ruiz 262lbs Dimitrenko 259lbs Ruiz's weight ties his ninth career highest in 32 bouts. Dimitrenko's ties his own second highest in 45 bouts.
