Because Ortiz didn't have his natural southpaw advantage, it's the same frigging reason why Valenzuela got sparked tonight by De Los Santos. When they're both punchers, southpaw vs, southpaw can be treacherous as ****, for the "name" southpaw.

A-side Ruiz barely scraped a decision over a 43 year old, 2 KO defeat Ortiz, losing 19 of the 36 rounds scored. That is Ruiz's level, below the level of the Ortiz Wilder KO'd 3 and 4.5 years ago.

43 year old Ortiz was dropped twice legitimately and went the 12 round distance with Ruiz, 29 year old Joshua was dropped four times and found a way out in 7.

Both are in Most Heavyweights Top 10 at the Moment so are they better than we think or is it a average weight division.?

Neither Ortiz or Ruiz are really top 10 on ability and you can find far worse HW's in the top 10's of the 70's year by year.

Eddie Hearn's schlong, though you can be forgiven for being oblivious to the bag this guy is in if you don't browse the British section here.

I agree regarding Maetin and Kownacki fight. Martin was coming on strong late and had it been 12 rounds Martin would of won.

Saw it when it went out live. From memory, for as much success as Martin had early against a clearly deteriorated version of the man, Ortiz still put him on ***** street and finished him inside six.

Doddery old fella is still giving relative whippersnappers a hard time, which speaks to his underlying quality.

Martin isn't close to being a top 15 guy, yet came very close to beating Ortiz. That's my point.

Fury gave wilder some career altering beatings. He went from beingon some we wuz kangz bs talkin bout how hes some black superhero to sounding like tony gwynn tonight. You might wanna hold off on predicting hes gonna do ****. Did you see him hitting mitts a couple weeks ago? Did he lose 40 lbs? Ill take ruiz. He won comfortably tonight.

Overriding points being that Ortiz was clearly a shadow of the fighter you described as "always been incredibly overrated" and that Martin can hardly claim to have come close to defeating Ortiz given that Ortiz easily beat the counts administered to him before knocking Martin silly and stopping him within half the scheduled distance.

Top 10's are based on past accomplishments to a very large degree. Ruiz is a one-hit wonder still dining off that AJ win. Ortiz had only lost to Wilder in fights that he won most of the rounds in.

The best example of the top 10 fallacy is that Povetkin was 4th ranked in the Whyte rematch. Did that look like a top 4 heavyweight? Or did it look like a medically unfit mess who would lose to prime Dave Allen?
