I have never seen someone turn down so many oppurtunities yet complain that everyone is ducking him. Everything single time he has a chance to mix it up with top boxers he finds a way to weasel out of it. Let’s examine he’s action and then you will see what an imposters this guy is. 1. Pulls out of his defence with Jermell Charlo under the advise of Roc nation who he was in talks to sign a deal with. 2. Roc nation deal falls apart and he is eventually stripped of his title due to inactivity. 3. Has issues with his promoters and says the PBC guys are black balling him. Instead of getting with Al he resigns with the same wack promotion that has helped stall his career. 4. Captures the WBA regular belt from Culcay and vacates it to go to 160 because the real champ Lara wouldn’t sign him. Yet he didn’t want to wait for the WBA to call for the mandatory. 5. Gets a final eliminator shot against Derevyanchenko to decide who gets to fight GGG for the IBF. He turns it down saying he wasn’t being given enough notice. 6. WBO make him the mandatory for Saunders and he may not fight Saunders next.
As a fighter he is actually capable, but in terms of everything else he seems to do it poorly. He is inactive, fights nobodies, ducks big fights and tends to sign stupid deals.
I was pretty high on Boo Boo when he came onthe scene...but man, you are right. He just throws away opportunity. He needs to take the BJ fight...or just retire and stop wasting everyone's time.
