And Andrades reputation as the most self-sabotaging fighter out there continues. Apparently he waited too long to sihn the contract and when he did, the promoter could no longer have the fight on the 5th. Its like hes deliberately trying to screw up his career. Hes got immense talent in the ring, and zero business smarts outside it. Such a waste
I totally agree. Now I don't know the reasons why he chose to act in that fashion but it's very unprofessional and a symptom of the diva mentality that boxing is suffering from. He is no superstar or immense talent. He is just an very good fighter in a group of very good fighters. He should be relegated to the back of the line and a fighter that wants to fight should be elevated.
James Prince strikes again. That's why Al didn't bother bidding for Ward. Dealing with him with one fighter was enough of a headache.
They can't make him sign no slave contract, maaaaaaaaan! Demetrius Andrade is going to be the next Floyd "Money" Mayweather. Meanwhile, 20 years from now, people will be like "Floyd Mayweather, yeah I remember him. Demetrius who?"
Hopefully he gets his sh*t straight otherwise the years will pass and he will be fed to some upcoming hungry beast who will make him regret wasting his prime.
I gotta say, I just so totally devastated by this news. This is a match that so many were clamoring for.
Andrade just can't seem to get his career up and running. He's still in his twenties, highly rated, gets tv exposure, held a title, fights in a deep division and has fought once a year the last several years. Seems like he has himself to blame for wasting some of his peak years. There's still time to make some big fights but he needs to stop wasting time and get in the ring.
Yeah, he needs to get his stuff together. Hes, in my opinion, the most talented guy at 154, and hes made every wrong move in his career. He seems to think hes entitled to a big fight against Canelo or Cotto based simply on the fact that hes good. That's not how boxing works. Hes done nothing to build his name and make himself a name that other fighters want to fight
TBH I'm not sure why he isn't going for Canelo belt, he's no.1 mandatory if my memory serves me right.
