In the end, USA boxing team results don't surprise me at all. While this guys would like to get a medal, they are really training to become PROS. The system is different. And they are thinking more about the money and the belts than about the medals

    :rofl

I know some of the guys on the team. I can assure you that while the thought of making a lot of money occurs to them, occurs to everyone; for the past year in Colorado Springs they've been focusing on winning medals, not on whatever comes after.

Olympic boxing is basically politics now, I dont credit Olympic medals as amateur accomplishment unless the fighter has unreal talent (Gamboa,RJJ,Leonard,etc...)

I didn't see Andrade's fight. But the problem I have with this system is when a boxer gets ahead in the first round and then run the other three without doing anything. And is very hard to get a body punches counted also.

I am sure they were. But their style is a PRO style. Is what they see most of the time. Is what they learn. Is all around them. Same thing happens to Mexicans and Puerto Ricans. They are exposed to PRO boxing all the time. That is very hard to change

When Andrade did box on the outside he scored absolutely 0 points because the Korean simply covered his head.
    Andrade and Raynell were robbed.
    Wilder was gifted.
    Oil well.

The only unsportmanlike conduct I witnessed was by the judges. Disgraceful punks.:dead

The AIBA was considering removing the headgears, smart one. As soon as they took that **** to the IOC they said "do it and boxing's not in the Olympics anymore". Not only that, say good bye to a lot of parents letting their kids get into boxing with the headgear gone.

i just believe olympic boxing should be as close to pro boxing as possible..i thought the amateurs are suppose to train the boxers to become pro boxers..look at basketball..olympic basketball is almost like NBA style ball...except shorter three point line and shorter quarters..olympic boxing should juss go back to a 10 point scoring system...theres to much error in people pressing buttons..its bull****..if it doesnt change.. olympic boxing and the amateurs will die off..which ****in sucks cuz sum of the best of all time comes from the amateurs..RJJ, SRR, hearns, kostya, aaron pryor, sweet pea, ODLH, etc.
