I'm with you on that one. This has been a nightmare to watch- I had a bad feeling about our guys as soon as the Warren fight went down. Well, at least Wilder's still in it and he could probably use the boost of an Olympic medal the most. What's crazy is that you're exactly right..on paper leading in to Beijing, this should've been our strongest squad in awhile. I was expecting us and Russia to field very strong teams, but I've been dead wrong on both counts. Usually I have to bet money on something for that effect to happen...:gsg
Russia got bent over a barrel too. I did agree with Campbell on that one-in some way or another; the top Russian and American boxers were systematically removed; Rau'shee Warren ****ed up but he could also have had reason to feel he was ahead; Raynell Williams I thought won; Andrade I also felt could have/should have won. Luis Yanez was always a big headed little ****er and wasn't going to listen to anything Dan Campbell said, and it showed. Deontay is probably the nicest and most down to earth of the bunch, so I'm glad if it oculd only be 1, it's him. But looking at it; we could have had Warren, Russell, Williams, Andrade, and now we know Wilder medal. Which would have been one of the strongest American showing in years; since 88 probably. And instead it ends disastrously. Oh well; there's always London. Hopefully I won't just be a spectator for that one.
I think it's worse to stand there and take them screwing you. **** sportsmanship when they are actively screwing you, where's their sense of sportsman ship to the athletes.
I thought Andrede won a close fight, but I wouldn't say he was robbed. I've seen far worse decisions this Olympics. He should have stayed for the decision. That was a real ***** move.
You could still show respect to your opponent regardless of the bad judging. That said, Andrade should have won that. He landed more and hurt the other guy twice. How do they determine the tiebreakers?? I actually thought the Korean lost his first bout to Culcay Keth from Germany.
totally agree:good andrade shoudlnt be on an inside fight with a 5'6 welter. he had all the advantages and he went toe to toe...it's his fault. and i felt the smaller man outboxed hima dn counterpunched the biggerman far more effectivly. anyways andrade wasnt complaining at the end he was dissapointed.
Because Selimov lost and Timurziev got RSC'd. Andrade deserved to win his fight and got it taken from him. There's a difference.
They were acting pissy after they legitimately lost. Selimov especially was a *****. At least Andrade didn't shove his opponent after the bell.
