Andrade says he wants to fight the big names. Fights Akavov

Man im disappointed.

 

Artur Akavov is quite a small name to be honest.

Demetrius Andrade's last opponent, Walter Kautondokwa, was without a doubt a big name.

Andrade has also previously faced these big names;

Dario Fabian Pucheta
Vanes Martirosyan
Arnulfo Javier Romero

If he is serious about facing big names in the future, then these are the big names he should really go after;

Sergiy Derevyanchenko
Gennady Gennadyevich Golovkin
Santos Saúl Álvarez Barragán

Akavov isn’t that the guy who Saunders fought when he was looking like Fury?
You never know Akavov might actually win albeit he’d never get the decision.
Tell you what boxing really stinks at the minute,can’t ever remember every single favoured boxer getting help on the cards like we see now,upsets have become an impossibility on the cards.

 

Lol I swear I’d not read this before my post,totally agree though and I would expect Andrade to win early rounds before Akavov starts grinding away.
Think we can say now that Andrade v Saunders was only ever close on paper.

 

Ill give him a pass seen as tbough hes just started getting some actual hype and will want to build on it. Hes spent the last five years fighting one time a year so at least he is getting active.

I dont begrudge him these fights if he is active but he'll sharp get called out on it when theres bigger fights to be made. Association with Hearn wont help if Hearns US cards continue to be less than stellar as well.

 

Akavov is the first southpaw Andrade will fight since Chris Chatman in 2009.
