Andrade is still the same fighter he was 5 years ago. He just needs a bit more activity and he'll be back to his oldself. Andrade has always struggled to put away guys bigger than him (willie Nelson 12tko 6'3 ) Atlantez fox 6'5 came in weighing 185. And Walter was listed at 5'11 but hell no he was no 5'11 that guy was taller than Andrade 6'3 at least. When Andrade fought the 6'5 Atlantez fox Andrade on fight night came in weighing 167 pounds fox came in at 180 so in Andrades defense these guys are not natural middleweights and Andrade usually only rehydrates 167 168 fight night that's less than canelo ggg and all the middleweights rehydrate to. Canelo is no 6+ plus monster. Andrade could beat if he gets back to his old self.
Andrade is not a bad fighter but I think he'll struggle with Canelo. Andrade is quite a static fighter, he takes the middle of the ring and walks guys down, he'll struggle to deal with Canelo's movement and counter punching. We all know Canelo struggles with movers and Andrade doesn't fight that way he'll just walk into counters and will likely get broken down and stopped.
There is nothing to suggest Andrade would even be competitive against Canelo or any of the other top MW's. His record is extremely poor and he has turned in multiple sub-par performances even so.
no way in hell does canelo have the power to ko andrade . if you were to tell me canelo can beat andrade on ponts id believe it but no way in hell do i see him stopping andrade . canelo never stopped his toughest competition .look every competitive fight canelo has been in ( trout , lara , cotto, golovkin) hes won barley by very close decision hes never gone in there and blown tough competition out of the water andrade has all the length to give canelo hell . im telling you canelo has always avoided slick fighters southpaws are literally walking nightmares .i do think canelo can knockdown andrade but thats about it . go look at canelo kirkland round 1 look at how kirkland (southpaw) had canelo in round 1 go look at how canelo struggled life and death with trout another southpaw a 5,9 southpaw with little punching power . now imagine andrade a 6,1 southpaw imagine what he do to canelo .
I'm of the opinion that Andrade would outbox Canelo and make him look bad, and then Canelo wins a wide UD. No way would Andrade beat him on the cards unless he won all 36 minutes of the fight (and mentally he can't stay concentrated that long) The issue with Andrade is that he honestly could probably outbox damn near anyone around his weight, but literally every fight he has lapses where he kinda goes brain dead. He's kind've like Chad Dawson in that respect. He drifts through alot of fights where he could be dominate if he had a mindset and concentration of say a Danny Jacobs. His focus and probably mental frailty is his biggest enemy. That's why he's an up and down fighter, anyone that is mentally tougher (and damn near everyone is) is gonna give him Hell.
I just watched the highlights and a bit of the post fight, did it look like he hurt his shoulder during the fight? He claimed he injured it the same week and aggravated it during the fight.
