Last I saw, this fight was in talks for June. Andrade's people have managed his career very well thus far, as he's five years and stepping into a soft (?) title shot. I've never seen Baysangurov — what's he have to offer?

The other bit of intrigue is that the fight was being discussed for Andrade to travel to Ukraine. I respect a young contender's willingness to travel.

Anyone care to shed some light on this match up? According to Abel Sanchez, the WBO has ordered Baysangurov to face Andrade sometime in June or July.

Very much disagree with that statement. Andrade seems to be one of the most talented JMW's out there, and yet he hasn't fought any decent opposition. Baysangurov is a sound fighter, D could out box him, but it won't be easy.

Demetrius can't make 154 safely. I understand this is a title shot, but his people need to think long term.

He just turned 25 — how far along do you expect him to be? He's been active and is now stepping up with 6 or so years of prime competitiveness remaining. I agree the weight is a concern, but hopefully the idea is to capture a weaker belt at 154 and then use that for leverage once he commits to 160.

Definitely the hardest puncher he'll be going up against. But Andrade has enough boxing skill to win this fight. I don't find him too entertaining.
