Who here just watched the fight and like me, is absolutely ****in' disgusted with the ref. job here??? Andrade was ****in' robbed of a KO victory. Betcha, Bute will not give this guy a rematch.
You are a little late, besides by the rules the ref did the right thing at the end. Fan do have a case with the reffing throughout the fight though.
Cannot be saved by the bell in any round including the 12th and final bell, that rule was blatantly broken by the ref. Didnt check on on Bute after sending Andrade to the neutral corner, didnt even look at him, just motioned Bute to go into his corner.
Bute was up before the count of ten so STFU.I agree that Marlon Wright gave Bute a count way too long but if you count by yourself,Bute is still up before ten,so it dont make any difference. And Bute said he wanted to give Andrade a rematch.
This is been done to death...Bute was up before the count of 10..The round was over so Andrade would not have gotten another chance at him...Nothing unfair about it. Andrade I feel deserves to be put back into a position to challenge for rematch and not an immediate rematch..which the IBF have seemed to have done...He shouldnt have to fight in 3 eliminators to force the fight but he doesnt deserve an shot at the title straight away.
What puzzles me a little bit is people implying it isnt worth discussing. Hell, i see twice a month a thread if the Taylor - Chavez stoppage was legit ! Two weeks ago i also mentioned Andrade was robbed, but im not sure about the rules here, maybe someone can enlighten me cause i havent seen no one writing anything concrete here. Some people say, the fight was over so Bute only had to get on his feet. My understanding was, you cannot be saved by the bell in any round and must be able to continue. So one ref has to be wrong, wether it was the Richard Steele in the Taylor - Chavez fight or that fishy ref from the Bute - Andrade fight. Cause Meldrick Taylor sure as hell was standing on his feet. Bute was no way in a condition to continue and he got a count to what...25?
He wasn't 'saved by the bell', hence the fact that the bell didn't ring until the count was complete, whereas the three minutes was up before that point. The fact that the count was interupted was Andrade's fault, pictures clearly show him standing right in the middle of the ring. Referee acted correctly to suspend the count and make him return to the corner.
Still my question is, had Bute to be in condition to continue, or was it enough for him standing on his feet? What is the rule? You also could argue that he even was standing on his feet, cause he was leaning against the ropes. The ref didnt check if Bute could stand on his own feet, let alone walk 1,2 steps foward.
http://www.ibf-usba-boxing.com/userfiles/File/IBF-USBA Bout Rules.pdf The referee: Once Bute was up and his hands clear of the floor, the bell rang then. No requirement for the referee to check anything else. The referee was correct to stop the count and send Andrade back to the neutral corner. Clearly no case for him to declare a stopage as Bute could not possibly be subject to 'serious injury' because the fight was over.
he was up but if you look at him he was unable to continue so a referee has to assess a fighter to see if he is able to continue and he clearly wasn't so what the **** are you on about Andrade got robbed and everyone with any amount of common sense could see that the guy was in his hometown with a ref who was clearly under pressure to save the home fighter and for you not to even know the rules of boxing is disgraceful i think you need to STFU and keep it shut. If a fighter is unable to continue even after making it up the fight has to be stopped under the boxing rules because really ask yourself, did he look in any fit shape to carry on if there was 10 seconds left after he made it to his feet, Thats exactly what I thought too. It was Daylight robbery son. Regardless of the fight being over, he was knocked down with the fight still going on so the bell cant save him so I dont understand this point of view of the ref not needing to stop it, it should have been stopped...
