What does that exactly mean "get up"? Leaning on the ropes, standing on his feet? Cause if you look closely, he wasnt really standing.

He rises and his hands are clear of the floor. Seems fairly clear to me.

Bute was not in a state to defend himself before the KD, and the ref could have stopped the fight. Problably because it was in the 12 round and took place in Canada Bute wasnt stopped by the ref.

Nobody would have stopped the fight with 30 seconds to go without any Kds.

First. Andrade should blame himself for not getting in Bute's face much earlier and finish it earlier, then we would really have seen what lenghts the canadian ref would go to in order to save Bute.

Second. This was so clearly a hometown ref. I can see that you can defend the refs. way of doing things with the rules of boxing. But to say: "everything went by the book nothing wrong" is quite a far cry from my opinion. There was a hell of a lot of things that got bended in Bute's favor. The ref is probably not stupid, he will look to get another payday for Eric Lucas if he does whatever is within his "power" to let Bute win. I am not saying that it is a fix, I think this goes on a lot of places. Ohh... our guy gave the other gye a headbut ... I didnt see that. Wow the other guy gave our guy a headbutt, we deduct a point. Wow our guy is in troubble and they just clashed heads... clear headbutt and disqualification. Throughout this fight whenever Bute got close to troubble the ref found some way to give Bute a breather. In the 12th he did his best to get inbetween Andrade and Bute to limit Andrade's posiblilities of landing on Bute

For this fight many refs would have waved their hands and stopped the fight before finishing the count. I will go as far as to say the this ref would have waved his hans if Andrade was on the one in troubble so that Bute could get the KO on his card. This in fact is seen again and again in every country.

In my eyes Andrade knocked out Bute unfirtunately 30 seconds too late, Bute can be grateful that this fight was on home soil otherwise he could have gotten in serious troubble already in the 8th round.

They showed a replay of the fight last night on Showtime.

I rewatched and this time I noticed some vicious headbutting by Andrade. He also throws some nice elbows in this fight.

But the most telling headbutt was in the waning seconds of the fight. If you watch Andrade run across the ring chasing Bute into the ropes he literally goes in head first. There was another particularly nasty headbutt a round or two earlier.

As to the count, yeah it was smelly. The interruption of the count to scold Andrade about the nuetral corner thing was sort of bogus. But I do think Andrade beat the "so-called" count.

It is not the Refs job to count how many seconds there is left... He is there to protect the fighters, and in that regard he kind of failed in the Bute fight!

Yes, damn those referees whose 'ways' just happen to co-incide with the rules of boxing...

So you just took out of the ecuation the numerous headbutts and elbows Andrade did and wasn't penalized right?

Tell that to Steve Smoger-the most respected ref outthere.
You think he would have stopped it?

Thank you for slicing my quote, but I think that if you have watched more than 20 boxing fights before then you also know that there are several ways that the ref can deal with this situation and the "way" he chose was the only one that could lead to a victory for Bute.

I have seen many fighters standing outside the corner without that causing the ref to stop the count. I have also seen many fighters being stopped and disallowed to countinue that was in a better state than Bute.

This is news for me I will have to rewatch the fight to confirm it. I did not notice any headbutts the first time arround.
