Andrade Vs Kelly Pavlik

I think Andrade's strength advantage and greater punch resistance prevails in a war.

 

Pavlik isn't beating anyone good at 168.

 

You know this was actaully the fight that lead to the whole HBO is racist against white fighters protest that Arum tried to lead a few years back.

Arum tried to sell HBO a fight with Pavlik vs Dorian Beaupierre, HBO said **** no, but we will show him if he fights Andrade. Arum then replied that it was unfair that they ask he fight such a tough fighter on his first HBO show, and said that black fighters werent asked to face that level in thier first fight on HBO. What Arum failed to mention was that it was like Pavliks 25th fight.

As far as the fight itself....If Pavlik is tough enough he would beat Andrade. But Andrade like Margo can beat fighters that are better then them if that fighter isnt tough, he will test thier balls that is for sure.

 

What a WAR this would be.. PAV would get him in later rounds, to smart for Andrade.

 

I think Kelly will scrape through a close pts win, cant see him knocking Andrade out!

 

Andrade is very underrated on these boards. He might never beat outstanding boxers such as Kessler and Bute, but Kelly is neither an outstanding boxer, nor a legit SMW whereas Andrade is LHW-strong who can take a lot to give a lot more back. I simply don't think the jab stops him coming in, and if he can get inside, he's a vicious puncher who can chop almost anybody with mediocre defense down. He even broke down the extremely durable Vitali Tsypko in a very overlooked win, also Robert Stieglitz, the current WBO SMW champ.

I'd probably pick Kelly over a MW-sized Andrade, but Librado is more of a natural 175-er, and Pavlik's game depends on outpowering smaller, weaker opponents. In this fight, he'd be outpowered even more than in the Hopkins fight.

Pretty damn exciting match-up if you ask me. If Andrade can pull it off on Saturday, which would be an upset in my view, this fight should happen.

why are there so many discussions on andrade?!? he's nothing more than a b-level fighter. only thing world class about him is his chin. his promoter should just let him be a local attraction,and match him up with people that will give him exciting fights, because apparently he's pretty well liked here. he's an arturo gatti at best, maybe that's an insult to gatti. more like peter manfredo. speaking of that he and andrade should fight.
