In my opinion Andrade would do a nice job in a fight with Ward and I think he has a good chance to stop him by KO. Even if Bute destroyed him in round 4 he still is a very good fighter, without counting the finish I think Andrade looked better than in their first fight in 2008; only problem is just the incredible shape of Bute ! What did this Ward before TD Kessler ? He has a UD with Miranda and that's all. About Kessler he was so off in this fight, he was too confident, didn't prepare the fight well and this things costs very much.
Ward UD. Not a complete shutout though. Something like 117-111, 118-110. Andrade has a puncher's chance.
Well it's useless to even think about this until after the projected end of the tournament in 2011. Honestly, by then, the gulf will be even wider than it is right now, and Andrade will be far too insignificant for Ward. I like Andrade, too. Regardless of the tournament's final outcome, Ward is almost certainly going to feature in the semi-final stage at least. He's tied up for a while. By the time he gets out, it's going to be big-money fights exclusively. The winner obviously will have crossover potential, but the Super Six may produce more than one huge star. Andrade will make an excellent gatekeeper...he may pick up a vacant belt here and there and beat up a touted but untested prospect. He'd KO someone like Edison Miranda. He just can't hang with the absolute best in the division though - and it's top-loaded.
I think it would be a complete shutout. Kessler dominated him out with his methodical sniper type boxing, I figure someone like Ward with his excellent footwork and speed would do him worse than that. Not remotely competitive.
It's a bit hard fpr ,e to judge Andrade...I've only seen the 2 fights with Bute....... to me he looks to slow and awkward to deal with Ward. Granted Ward doesnt have destructive power, so Andrade could hang, but I think he would be thoroughly outboxed, and dominated in a lopsided UD.
atsch omg man.. this gotta stop.... Andrade to ko ward.. **** man.. Dont even wanna expplain why thats no near possible..
It'd be a complete mismatch as Andrade is slow and untalented. Better question is could Andrade survive Miranda? That would be at least somewhat more competitive. Green would school Andrade.
The big difference between Ward and Bute is THE BALANCE. Look how well balanced is Bute and the way Ward drops in with the shots and get off balance often, he is not so organized, looks like a street fighter. He can be easily cought by Andrade.
Yeah, but Andrade would need that 1 big shot to land.....If Kessler couldn't do it, I doubt Andrade could, who is not nearly as good. Whatever you think of Ward's tactics vs MK, he was very successful at not getting hit flush against a good opponent. There's no reason to think and inferior fighter would be able to do it.
The thing is. When Kessler didn't see a target he didn't throw punches. Andrade will come forward and throw punches no matter what. He will tie you up. Push you.. he'll do everything so you'll get tired. Ward obviously is very talented and he has nice ring generalship. But can he do it for 12 rounds with a guy that comes to him constantly no matter what he throws at him? That's the question. The only way to know the answer would be for them to fight. You can't say Ward would beat Andrade just because he beat Kessler (who beat Andrade). Boxing does work like that. Otherwise Hopkins wouldn't have defeated Pavlik and Tarver. Mosley wouldn't have defeated Mayorga and Margarito, Ali wouldn't have defeated Foreman, etc...
not an intresting matchup i dont even know why im posting. Must be bored. I m an Andrade fan but Ward wins this easy, unless Andrade gets lucky. This fight is like asking who wins Chad Dawson vs Clinton Woods.
Everyone saw that Kessler was just a pale attend of the boxer he was in 2007. Though Ward did a nice job against him, but he have to confirm in the next fights, will see.
Nobody said anything about beating the man who beat the man. I said that Kessler is a better fighter than Andrade. And he is.....I can say this without even referring to their fight. Its obvious. It's a double edged sword being a guy who's best asset in the ring is his ability to get hit and keep coming(and even thrive on it if you believe the hype). But you have to deal with the fallout when you get KO'd early in a fight. Either way, he needs to connect on a lucky shot to beat Ward who is simply a better fighter. Much as Bute was. The fight I'd pay to see is Ward/Bute......that would be something.
Very well said, these are the things that made me think a match-up between them would be very interesting . :good
