But why face Spike who's lost twice when he can beat an unbeaten former title holder?

Everyone in this sport does that, go for the easier options. That's just the way things are. I agree Andrade is a better fight but he's all risk and zero reward, doubt he'll get picked. But I'd love to see it.

And I think with GGG getting up there with age he's only going to take two types of fights, big ones or easy ones. Martinez did the same thing, he had killers like Pirog and GGG at the time but he faced guys like Barker and Macklin until he got Chavez.

I think either guy will end up being flattened but Spike is less work.

I'm glad you agree, that's my problem with the fight, he's the easier choice

To me they’re both equally weak.
Which is probably why I simply can not care who is in there with Golovkin, it’s a meaningless fight but a necessary one.

Pretty much my take. Andrade is undefeated...yeah, when the toughest opponents are Vanes and Willie Nelson, not hard to keep that 0. Especially when they are from another weight class lower.

Vanes is no chump and Andrade probably gave him the most thorough beating.

Not really, one is an unbeaten title holder, one is unranked.

I really hate to say that but - who did he beat? No one. Who did O’Sullivan beat? No one. He got his ass handed to him by BJS and Eubank. Both would beat Andrade too.
They’re the same in my book. Arguments could be made against both choices.
I prefer to aim my dissatisfaction in direction of the person who robbed us of a worthy fight and made Golovkin resort to this.

Martirosyan is a better win than any that Spike has. They aren't the same choice. One is an unbeaten title holder, one is an unranked contender.

Everyone is pissed at Canelo for cheating, but Golovkin has had two 3 opponents offer themselves who would still be decent victories for him, Spike is an awful choice if it comes off.

Dude stop making it out to be something worth a damn. No one worth his salt would be fighting now, they be all bums. Which bum is more worthy than the other... fruitless argument.
