Seriously man that's a long obnoxious post in a language that 90% of the people here don't speak. all you had to do was say that there was a dispute over the gloves, which happens a lot regardless of what the contracts say, and then say you read it in some frog periodical. look at that 3 lines of english accomplished more that 3 pages of French...no wonder America had to save france in WWI and WWII
Wow people, no reason to get all butt hurt just because you don't speak Fench. Considering there was so much controversy on this forum over the fight, I would think people would be interested to know this information. If you can't read it, then why even bother bitching about it? Wait for the translation. Within a few minutes of posting two people posted summaries of it!
This is bull****. Listen to the post fight videos on youtube. Andrade and his team were angry because at the last minute they were told they can't use the gloves agreed upon (and signed for by IBF head honcho), and they said that they were getting screwed by interbox. Two sides to every story and Andrade and his team sounded pretty genuine (and angry). This is a mute point anyway becuase they ended up coming to an agreement.
Thanks bro! I should have put only the link at first, but some here have some frustrations to expell I suppose.
Actually they both used Reyes during the fight which is what Andrade normally wears. Bute usually wears that Rival brand.
You're fast to call something bull****. I just sent this info that was here. Of course, we'l need to know the other side of the story. Though, there are a lot of details in the paper that are pretty convincing. Maybe you should ask Otis Grant if that's true? The IBF supervisor was there too. So, we'll have to wait. Don't presume Andrade's post-interview is all the truth.
Do I have this right? Andrade agreed by contract to use the same type of Reyes gloves that Bute was going to use. On fight night, he said he wouldn't fight if he wasn't allowed to use a pair of Reyes gloves with less padding than Bute would be using. He thought Bute would give in and allow himself to be disadvantaged so that the 16,000 people wouldn't have to be disappointed if the fight was cancelled for breach of contract. But Bute called his bluff and said the fight would be cancelled if Andrade didn't use the same kind of gloves he was using, as agreed initially in the contract. Andrade was convinced to give in by Otis Grant and use the same type of Reyes gloves Bute was going to wear, as agreed in the contract. Is this what happened?
