Andre Dirrell is a 30 year old, 6'2" SMW who has a record of 21-1 (14) overall and 0-1 in his only World title fight. His only loss was a split-decision to Carl Froch for Froch's WBC SMW Title. The fight was in Froch's backyard and a case can be made that Dirrell deserved the decision. Dirrell beat Arthur Abraham, DQ11. Abraham hit Dirrell after Dirrell slipped to the canvas... Dirrell did not fight for 21 months due to the head injury sustained in the fight. Dirrell did outbox Abraham. Dirrell fought once in 2011 and once this year. What the hell is he doing? The man has talent but how can he accomplish anything if he only fights twice in 2 years. He needs to fight more often and he needs to fight better fighters. He beat Abraham and almost beat Froch. Dirrell should be among the best in the division right now. Anthony Dirrell is 1 1/2" shorter than his brother and 29 years old. His record is 26-0 (22) and he is fighting Sakio Bika for the WBC SMW Title in December. Anthony is very good but don't be fooled by the record. Andre is the better fighter IMO. Anthony hasn't fought anybody as good as Abraham or Froch. They both stopped Anthony Hanshaw but Andre (KO5) did it more than 5 years before Anthony (KO3) and Hanshaw was much better back than. Anthony seems to be on track but what's up with Andre? He needs to stay
Ellie Sucksock has been posting a lot of photos of Dirrell to put everyone on notice that Andre is making a return at the start of next year. He must have been paid by fiddy to do that.
Andre is gone, still shell shocked and awaiting clearance from Shaw Hi. Anthony will be roughed up and beat up by Bika.
Who the hell knows what's going on with Andre Dirrell. The guy is clearly amongst the most physically talented fighters at 168, possibly the best. I won't question the veracity of the head injury, and if it is thaat bad, he shouldn't be fighting at all. If there is more to it, (i.e contracts, etc., then just fight. He's a young guy who has let a big chunk of his prime years slip away.
