This may be true. Margarito may very well outlast Berto and knock him out, but as anyone who's ever watched boxing for any lenghth of time, style make fights.......it is'nt out of the realm of possiblilty that Pacquiao has a harder time vs Berto than he did Margarito. ......seems to me that the chances are that vs Berto, Pacquiao goes into complete hunter role, which gives Berto the chance to use speed and movement on the counter.
Did I say that, Look at the stats Collazo landed 220 punches against Berto. Against Hatton he landed 207. With a higher powerpunch percentage against Berto. Also he won the last two rounds on all three cards to squeeze past Collazo. At no point did he dominate. Not easy is it slick when people have the stats to back up their comments.
I would like to see Berto vs Pac if Mayweather doesn't come out of hiding, which I don't think he is... Berto vs Pac June 2011 I say... Berto needs to impress this saturday.
Well Berto has asked for the fight. That is all we as boxing fans can ask for right? What will Pac say?
This is a guy who went the distance with: Juan Urango Luis Collazo Steve Forbes Not exactly a Murderer's Row, is it?
Name a better option*, aside from Mayweather? *Fighters who are arguably shot and/or coming off losses and unimpressive performances not included.
Glad to see he is finally speaking his mind. Too bad he didn't do it a long time ago. Doing it now right, when Top Rank is looking for an opponent, makes it seem like a straight gimmick. Oh well, whatever works. I would rather see Manny fight Berto over Mosley. I really wanna see if Berto is ready for that next level. It's been too damn long as is. If Floyd vs Manny does happen, then Berto better get Mosley in the ring ASAP(though he was a straight up dumbass for letting Shane fight Sergio instead of him).
I can understand your point, but I watched both fights. You can quote the stats, but I would suggest you actually watch the fights. Collazo versus Berto was "mauling", close, and busy. Just because of angle of a punch makes it a "power" shot doesn't make it "powerful" shot. It was however a war in the trenches and Collazo was getting the best of it. Versus Hatton Collazo was out fighting a come forward brawler landing stiff shots doubled up by momentum. Hatton was dominated. Berto was gaining momentum. Honestly there is no way in hell Berton only won the last three cards. I am a HUGE Collazo fan. Have been since Hatton. I wanted Collazo to win that fight. I watched it and scored it. I couldn't give it to Collazo.
Really? I root for quite a few brothas, but not all of them. I root for Pure Boxers and or counter punchers. That is the style of fighting I like. Anyone can move their hands and constantly walk forward. It takes a special fighter to counter aggression with cool precision.
