This. Berto always starts fast then gasses, gets in trouble and has enough heart to fight through and tough it out in the championship rounds. Although tonight, he was kinda looking at his corner to stop it in the 11th.

He lost fair & square, just isn't complete enough as a fighter. He needs to learn how to handle himself inside and against an aggressive fighter, Ortiz was a man possessed tonight BUT he was also reckless which with the exception of the 6th round Berto wasn't able to exploit. Berto's stock took a huge dive tonight, he still has potential but guys like Pac, PBF, Mosley, Martinez etc would make a reckless guy like Ortiz pay.

How long have you been watching boxing? One big punch has done that to countless fighters who train hard... I dont see why he would have underestimated Ortiz.. He might have been the favorite, but ORtiz was still considered the toughest (or one of) the toughest he had ever fought... No one ever questioned ORtiz talent or power, it was his heart.. Im sure Berto knew this. No excuses for Berto . I have seen him hurt by average punchhing Colazzo and some other guy who wasnt a big puncher??? Im sure he was confident but he knew ORtiz was dangerous. Oritz has always been a really big JW, it shouldnt suprise anyone that he carried his power up.

I don't think he was tired, I think he fought scared, after he was hurt, all he did was cover up, had Ortiz not put him down in the 6th I think Berto would've stayed in the middle of the ring, let his hands go, and pulled a UD.

I disagree .. If he stood in front he would have gotten caught again.. Oritz just hit too hard for him "Plain and Simple"... I cnat count how many times Berto was hurt and in trouble, pretty much every time Ortiz landed something clean..

For the exception of that big 6th round (and maybe one other time).. ORitz took his punches well, i was suprised at some of the Shots Victor walked thru.

Victor just has the better chin, better power, and the more rounded fighter (technichally).... ORtiz just gets sloppy and gets caught with monster shots (hes been doing that for a while). IF he straightned that out, he would be up their with the true elites PFP.

What a bad excuse ... if he didn't train hard for this fight, he would have been KO'd early and would have never been able to drop Ortiz twice.

That's what I thought to myself watching this fight. Berto seemed ill-prepared but its his job to get prepared. Victor wanted it more.

Berto was in tip top shape. He mistakenly thought Victor would fold under pressure, I thought the same thing. Big ups to Victor. Lets do it again.
