I am not defending myself....Because I have nothing to defend!!! Example...There is one poster who ask me why are all the "Prospects" Photos on my Profile page ALL BLACK. And when I explained to him that several are from my home state, a few more are southpaws (I am a southpaw), two I know personally, one is actually Dominican and the other is a relative. Do you see what I am saying....PERCEPTION!!! He saw Black and just ASSUMED the only reason I would have an interest in these prospects is Color....Again, PERCEPTION!!!
Thats his perogative. I would not assume anything until I hear reasons, but a lot of the reasons I see or am given do not add up a lot of the time.
But that's exactly the point....Why in the Hell are they supposed to ADD UP TO YOU? If a guy/person/poster likes a fighter....it should be his reason and HIS REASON ALONE for the interest he has in a fighter. Why should anyone define their reasons for liking a fighter to someone they don't ****ING KNOW. Who the **** ARE YOU TO DEMAND AN EXPLAINATION AND WHO THE **** ARE YOU THAT IF IT DOESN'T "ADD-UP" BY YOUR STANDARDS...IT'S RACIST. JUST ****ING STUPID!!!!
There's nothing wrong with supporting athletes, actors, etc., because, they look like you (so to speak) or share cultural or national commonalities with you. It's not racist...unless...you think those individuals are better (as human beings) than others, by virtue of their race. Racism is a very misused and overused term to describe what in most cases is either prejudice or ignorance, on the part of so-called 'racists'.
No. Simply put if it is unsubstantiated bias, it could and probably should be coined 'racist'. Nothing to do with their humanity.
Then call it "unsubstantiated bias", but, it is not by definition "racism". Racism is racism and bias (unsubstantiated or not) is bias. Bias is an element of racism, but, the two things are not the same. Well..actually, you can call it what you want. I can't tell you what think or say. But, that does not change the definition of the words, and how thy should be used.
He was slightly wobbled. But, not wincing in pain or down on the canvas long at all. He got caught, by a good sneaky shot. It's as simple as that, IMO. I've never seen Berto seriously hurt.
True. IMO...a strong enough bias--combined with hate, prejudice, ignorance--etc. can graduate to racists beliefs and ideologies, if it's nurtured long enough.
